Larry Warford goes to the Detroit Lions with the 65th pick in the 2013 NFL draft

(Have you seen this picture enough times this week?)

Former Kentucky Offensive Lineman Larry Warford heard his name called just a few moments ago as the Detroit Lions selected him with the 65th overall pick in the 2013 NFL Draft. Warford just narrowly missed on being taken in the 2nd round. Warford became the first Kentucky offensive lineman to be drafted in 20 years.

A huge congratulations to Larry Warford from all of the Big Blue Nation. Good luck in Detroit.

The great thing about NFL vs. NBA draft, 3rd round NFL can be greater than 2nd round NBA, or better.

    Congrats to Larry!!

Wow. Central Michigan, Connecticut, Houston, Southeast Louisiana, Rice, Florida International, and Marshall all had players selected ahead of Warford. I didn’t even know some of these schools had football programs, yet they had better players than UK.

Looks like he needs to shed the inner tubule around his waist! But congrats on being the first o line to be drafted in 20 years. Doesn’t say much for UK football’s o line over the years. Hard to win in the SEC if u can’t control the line of scrimmage.

#6 – And how many U of L players were selected in this draft so far?

    *crickets*

6 – don’t troll when your team hasn’t even had a player on the board. It just makes you look retarded… which may actually be an insult to retarded people everywhere, now that I think about it.

Find your place and fight to keep it. You’ve worked hard for UK, you’ll do the same in the league. Wish you were back for the UK revival, but you’ll not be forgotten. Come back to town sometime. BBN don’t forget.

#10 – well, then tell us what other school you’re here trolling for. Indiana? I can’t see any other fanbase wasting their time other than U of L or Indiana. And who even knew Indiana had a football team?

    14) it’s cute that you think UK fans give two shits about the RM loss. Run along now and enjoy your 15 seconds of relevancy.

And by right way, I mean ran off any players with injuries (aka “encouraged to transfer”), held players back at the cost of their future so that the university could profit off of them while they earn a degree which is worth $30,000/year, and our coach spends his millions on old, worn out prostitutes. That’s the right way, you hillbillies! So says I from my section 8 apartment in the ghetto!

It really surprises me to read that people see the pic as racist… Honestly, if you think a simple mouth swap turns him into a “monkey,” I say you’re the racist.

Congrats to him. Hope this shows these football recruits that you don’t have to play with the likes of Bama, FL or GA to get drafted, you get to play against them in the SEC, show your stuff and win your battles that counts and the NFL wants you.

I am happy for Larry. Detroit also seems to be a team on the upswing. I think Stafford running the offense and the defense looks improved. They will have a chance to make the playoffs. They probably play in the toughest division in the NFC top to bottom. GB, Minn, Chic. and Detroit. All 4 are capable of winning 10 games.
