LaRod King and Gene McCaskill, your wide receiver starters

The wait is over.  UK assistant Tee Martin said today that Gene McCaskill will start opposite LaRod King at wideout for the Cats Saturday against Central Michigan.  Martin also said that freshman Demarco Robinson and junior EJ Fields, who is available this week after serving a suspension, will factor into the rotation and #FreeAaronBoyd will see some snaps too.  Noticably absent:  senior Matt Roark, who has struggled to consistently catch the ball.

Maybe Matt Roark can go hang out at Sin The’s Wave Pool and work on his tan on Saturday.

If these are the two best WRs on the team, the team is screwed.

What’s wrong with King and McCaskill? I mean, they’re not Randall Cobb, but these guys are both solid, experienced receivers.

any mention of Boyd playing? What’s up with him anyway? Dude was a 4 star

I had high hopes for Roark to turn into a great possession guy this year with his physical stature. Hopefully this only serves to motivate him to get better so he can get back out there.

Most depressing news i’ve read today. Can’t blame the fans for the 6 percent drop in season ticket sales if this is the best UK has to offer from the receiver corp.

Who did you expect them to put out there? Randall Cobb ain’t walking through that door.

I’m just happy to see a shake-up. Wait and see if it works, then blast them. Some people need to remember where this program has come from. It’s been around a lot longer than the past five years.

7- A 4 star high school player in the state of KY is comparable to a 1/2 to 1 star in a football state like Alabama, Texas or Florida. If we start getting 4 star players from these states, then their reputations as these elite player will hold true.

Yeah, because a 9.5% unemployment rate has no effect whatsoever.

5 to 1 odds that King drops more passes than he catches. Look for the Cats to throw more to the running backs.
How in the world did the coaching staff go the entire off season knowing the players that were returning and end
up with a group receivers that could not catch a cold. I hope the entire receiver corp is getting a degree at the end of their playing career, they are going to need it.

#12, wasn’t aware that Scout/Rivals adjusteded their star ratings according to state lines. So Randall Cobb being a 2 star in TN is like a 5 star HS player from KY? Max Smith was a 3 star QB from CA, would that make him a 5 star QB if he was from KY? If a HS player transfers from one state to another, is his star rating adjusted? Uh no. Don’t know much about his time at UK, but if Boyd’s work ethic at UK is anything like it was at Henry Clay, that’s the problem. Plus his foot speed is supposedly questionable. But hell, if he can catch a ball, put him in!

Great! Finally McCaskill gets the start! All you haters, prepare to shut your mouths. Nothing wrong with either of these two. LaRod is a nice deep threat who WILL catch the football, just like last season. McCaskill is a very athletic and versitile receiver who WILL catch the football.
All you old, washed up farts who keep talking all that shit.. I’d love to see you out there doing any better. So until you’re a SEC football player, making huge plays and never dropping a pass.. maybe you should keep your mouth closed.
