Lanxter confirmed to be out, Lanefski injured

Rich Brooks confirmed what he hinted at yesterday by declaring junior wideout Kyrus Lanxter out for the Louisville game.  Also, sophomore offensive lineman Jake Lanefski left practice with a thumb injury and his status isn’t quite known, although the staff hopes he’ll still play with a cast.

Also, during his teleconference, Brooks made couple of interestng comments (via MrSEC.com):

– When asked if his team could be over-confident, Brooks said he didn’t know how they could be too confident when they haven’t really done anything this year.

– One caller asked about his thoughts on fans booing and Coach sad that the outspoken nature of fans in recent years has changed dramatically. He said that the media had always teased and criticized coaches, but doing it to players has become more prevalent. Obviously, he didn’t like that.

– Aso, Brooks added that he thinks a lot of the negative feelings from fans stem from putting too much stock in how many stars a player was rated out of high school.
