Kyle Wiltjer reports to Canadian National Team Training Camp

Let’s all have some poutine in honor of Kyle Wiltjer, who is currently in Portland, Oregon to take part in training camp for Canada’s World University Games. Wiltjer was named to Canada’s Development Men’s National Team Training Camp Roster over the weekend, and will spend the next few weeks at the Bo Jackson Fitness Center at the Nike World Headquarters preparing to go overseas with the team to play an exhibition series in China, and later, the World University Games in Russia.
What do these workouts entail? According to the Canadian National Team website, the team “a rigorous workout and practice regimen” designed to develop the players’ skills and talents, and hopefully, put some bulk on our favorite dual citizen. The team is lead by Jay Triano, an assistant coach for the Portland Trail Blazers.
Here’s the complete training camp roster:

good!!…..maybe he’ll stay up there and do us all a huge favour!!!
1 – Terrible post.
Was Wiggins not eligible/decline?
Canadian Roster = a bunch of white guys that can shoot. On a serious note, players usually benefit a lot from playing on national teams. Hopefully Kyle develops the other parts of his game that he needs to work on.
Why isn’t that chickenshit Wiggins listed? Afraid he might have to practice and share the ball?
3) < RACIST
This is just the Developmental team. Wiggins will likely receive his invitation to the U-19 team in a few weeks.
5 – stereotyping? Yes. Racist? Not even close. Also, obviously joking? Yes. Culver being over sensitive? Ditto.
Last I heard Portland Oregon is not in Canada
And if you last name is Scrubb that should be a big clue that you should not be playing a team sport
I am so mad, I can’t wait to explode when we get beat by Western
Dang, they got some scrubbs on their team!
Mrs. TT…. I’m pretty sure Wiggins isn’t playing for the national team this summer. Didn’t he say he didn’t want to play in the summer?
He said he didn’t want to be at school this summer because he wanted to play for Team Canada. He’ll actually be on the junior men’s national team (under 19), which is separate from the team Kyle Wiltjer will be on.
I think Wiggins was going to be on the U-19 team.
They can have the poor slow white boy….dude plays no defense to speak of, no speed and you can score at will against him.
Good for him. Looking for him to get 10-15 minutes this year and significantly improve so he can be a star by his senior year.
Triano is an assisstant
8. You might be trying to make joke about Portland / Canada…but Cal coached the Dominican team (in fact they practiced here). Last time I checked Cal is not from the DR.
Hope the workout this summer help Kyle. I like the guy.
You guyd dogging wiltjer should be slapped across the face. That boy may not have been the star, but his deadly long range shot was an intricate paet of the Title team. He came in many tis and sgot us back in games and gave us a lot of motivation. You all writing bad stuff probably can not even dribble a ball so until you get a ring, leave the guy alone he is a good player in his own right. So you kick ass Wiltjer and do not give these doubters any thought they aint shit. Good Luck and most of all have fun man, thats what life is all about in the long run.
I’m surprised they have a couple of Scrubbs on their team.
who is on the real canadian national team? Tristan Thompson? Myke Kabongo?
Only name I recognize is Brady Heslip, the starting shooting guard, from Baylor. He had a good run with Baylor in the NCAA Tournament in 2012 until they ran into MKG and Company.
Those of you who are slamming Wiltjer should be tarred & feathered.
He’s a fine young man and I hope he doesn’t read your nonsense.
GO BIG BLUE !!!
Why didn’t we offer the Scrubb Bros. ?
I think it is great. He maybe slow but when Cal lights a fire under him he can do a very good job. I think he just has to develop. I don’t know him but he appears to be a fine young man.
The Canadian team has a couple of Scrubbs on it.
#8 KEEP MY NAME OUTCHA MOUTH!!!
Best of luck, Kyle. No time for coasting this summer. Be an ANIMAL every day and on every play in a practice or game. You future us yours to make. Don’t let these new kids take what is yours, if you truly want it.
