Kuran Iverson thinks Memphis’ 2013 class is “way better” than Kentucky’s

Analysts across the land have lauded Kentucky’s incoming freshmen class as the best in history. Even without Andrew Wiggins, John Calipari has assembled the best group of talent college basketball has seen, including the #1 power forward (Julius Randle), the #1 point guard (Andrew Harrison), the #1 shooting guard (Aaron Harrison), the #2 center (Dakari Johnson), and the #3 small forward (James Young). While there may be some dissent as to whether or not it’s the best in history, everyone agrees they’re the best class in the nation. Except for Memphis incoming freshman Kuran Iverson.
“Everybody talking about Kentucky hype, but there ain’t really gonna be no Kentucky hype. There’s gonna be some Memphis hype.”
Do you think you guys are better than them?
“Yeah, way better,” he said. “Way better. They talented, we work hard.”
Boys, I think we have the first quote for the bulletin board.

“they talented”.
“but there ain’t really gonna be”, must have scored very high on the English grammar portion of the SAT.
Kuran needs to put in some hard work in the classroom before he starts worrying about Kentucky.
Did this kid grow up in a city in which the school system does not teach grammar?
Please give us Memphis in the tournament.
This genius found a great home in Memphis.
They don’t seem to work on grammar.
Someone’s a little bitter that Kentucky didn’t offer….
The difference between Cal @ Memphis and Cal @ UK, talented and articulate . . . I believe the infamous door may have a better understanding of the English language . . . but kuddos to the kid for the message . . . I wouldn’t give Kentucky props if I were him either.
link to him begging UK
Those would be the words of someone who secretly wishes he was playing for us.
Even were our classes even remotely close to each other, Cal’s class would be better than Pastner’s because Cal can coach these young players better.
With vocabulary like that I figured he would’ve gone to Louisville.
We talkin’ bout grammar? I mean it’s grammar. Grammar, really? We talkin’ bout grammar! Grammar!
Now we know why Ohio State did not sign this kid. Gee
#14, you win, hands down, on best comment.
To be fair, we’ve had our fair share of guys who pretty much murdered the English language. HOWEVER – I thought they had medications for delusions of grandeur?
That’s adorable
Would you expect him to say anything different?
grammar criticism isn’t really fair to these kids (ours or theirs)…you don’t build street cred speaking the queen’s English
I think his quote is PERFECT for the bulletin board. Kuran, if you know anyone else who feels the same, PLEASE encourage them to speak out! Lol
14) Awesome, simply awesome.
and i’m glad Iverson gave us a quote for this summer’s motivational poster in the weight room
I don’t even need to say what this kid is. Okay I’ll say it.. He’s a smart one…..
Why do we care?
What rank is he?
Yeah, Julius Randle and Dakari Johnson don’t work hard at all.
It’s not coincidence that most UK fans have never heard your name until today. Congratulations.
Isn’t that the mentality he should be going into the season with? And, who are we to criticize this kid’s grammar? Pot meet kettle.
Make fun of this kids grammar, but it’s all good when Archie says he “gone make them eat they feet” and then promptly signs autographs for $15, days after declaring for the NBA Draft in which he will go mid-2nd round.
But it’s a “players first” school and Cal is clearly the best at developing 5-star players and having them go as high draft picks.
Save some of that popcorn for the Final 4, which you’ll be watching on TV.
Iverson doesn’t have a brain! He is talking because UK didn’t want him!
#IQ’s falling
#29 Im pretty sure everybody will agree “make them eat they feet” is awful grammar too. Thats why they keep using it on this site cause it is horrible grammar and ridiculous.
Better to remain silent and be thought a fool than to speak out and remove all doubt.
This kid said in an interview at the Jordan AA game (I believe) that he wanted to go to UK but they didn’t offer & he chose Memphis bc Cal coached and won there. Cal basically handed him over to Pastner. I guess he’s trying to endear himself to the Memphis crowd, but that’s a bit weak. Someone’s jealous.
This is cool. These kids should feel this way.
Mem-who?
This comin from a dude who is butt hurt cuz Cal recruited over him. Hope UK meets Memphis in the tourney and destroys them.
Two of my favorite quotes from UK players: “We Be Kentucky”(Teague). “This ain’t no spelling bee”(Cousins). Be real people, did you go after our guys their grammar? I loved it and I’ll bet you did too.
I’m just waiting for somebody to top Yogi Berra. My favorite from Yogi- “The future ain’t what it used to be.”Makes me think about pre-Cal days.
I hate it when people on other teams think their team is better than ours.

This is coming from the No. 33 recruit in his class…I’m sensing a hint of jealousy since there are 6 players in the UK class ranked above him. (Not to mention 26 other players who are also ranked above him, only one of whom signed with the Memphis class he claims to be better!) Good luck, kid.
