Here is my thing about 2012 and the whole “Jones, Lamb and Darius were not the leaders/ MKG and AD were the leaders” argument. However, during the tournament if you look at the most important games you see the following:

Indiana: T-Jones came to play and stepped up to win that game for us, him and Doron Lamb
Baylor: Once again, T-Jones and Lamb led the way to that victory
Louisville: Darius led the way to that victory with HUGE shots.
Kansas: While AD won MOP, the real MOP for that game was Lamb, who almost went for 30 and hit big shot after big shot.

MKG continuously stayed in foul trouble (UofL, IU, Baylor). So I somewhat agree with the original point, but The veterans led them in the tournament and there is no denying that.

One game that gave me that joy was the 2009 football game in which we won vs. Auburn. Rich Brooks let Randall Cobb run wild and it was the first time we had beaten Auburn since 1966. I could just tell that IU was very much inferior to us with their players and I was fully confident that our guys would not let that IU team beat them twice in a row. Kentucky 67 vs. Kansas 66 OT (1978) Down six with less than 30 seconds to go in OT — Kentucky faced only its third loss in Rupp Arena’s history. When it appeared that UK fans would open the sport section on Sunday morning reading of a Kentucky loss — exactly one year to the day that Adolph Rupp has passed away while his Wildcats had again defeated his alma-mater.

Heading into the game, each team was undefeated and this game represented the stiffest test for either during the early part of the 1978-79 season. Although young and coming off of a National Championship year, Kentucky had eight players playing double-digit minutes — five Parade AAs — three McDonald’s AAs. Kansas was led by its first McDonald’s AA, Darnell Valentine (class of Magic Johnson, Albert King and Gene Banks). The “do-everything” point guard played every minute in regulation and overtime that night — yet his miscues opened the door for an improbable win for the Wildcats.

The problem with so many people in the audience today is that they only watch the processed trash that is cranked out by the “big four” networks. The VERY best drama/comedy on television is on the premium networks. The last show that I truly loved from the network stations was “Lost.” These crappy shows like “NCIS” and “CSI” are awful — they’re literally the exact same thing every week. A murder, some awful dialogue, and a resolution in 42 minutes. I need an ongoing story arc… serial shows >>>>

I was lucky enough to win two lower level seats to watch Davis block Henson. It truly was an awesome game.
It wasnt until later that night, or perhaps even the next day when I realized the national impact of the game, and more specifically THE BLOCK.

@156 BC, ksr does not have any affiliates in NKY… most of the stations up there carry Cincy programs. I am sure ksr would love to be able to tap into that market. However, they could just try to do some kind of remote broadcast, that would be fun but it is probably not likely… Great Show today Matt, Ryan, and Shannon. Thanks for signing my UK/Bluedevil ball. I couldn’t see myself asking a player to sign it, so I thought with Matt graduating from duke and ksr’s play on irony and sarcasim, that it just fit to get it signed by the ksr crew. Thanks again.

I am an old timer from Henderson Kentucky and when Kentucky beat the undefeated Hoosiers from Indiana in 1975. Mike Flynn from Jeffersonville , Indiana cutting the nets down in Dayton, Ohio and shaking them at the Indiana crowd which included Bobby Knight’s wife crying. Indiana the following year went undefeated anyway that game in Dayton is one of the reasons Indiana HATES Kentucky more then any other team including Louisville.
