I hate to see Kyle Wiltjer go, but I hope he does well where ever he goes…unless he pulls a Marvin Stone… I was glad that, or at least what I saw on Twitter, that most fans seem to be rooting for Kyle. Also what is BTI doing with the 9 am post? I dont understand, it just seems to be a wall of text talking about non-title teams and now he has red letters

Best of luck to Kyle if he is leaving… he will be missed but you have to do what is best for you. So I wonder how many people are showing up in West Virginia? Huggy bear himself may even show up in his jump suit.

That reminds me uncle Matt, you did that this time last year, are you doing that again this year?

Cool thing about who gets Wilter’s minutes is we might lose shooting but will gain athleticism no matter what. Like the crazy thought of Dakari, Cauley, randle frontcourt.

47)Kyle was forced to do something last year that isn’t his forte….create his own shot. He is at his best spotting up. I mean I don’t Blame him at all….look at our front court depth next year:

    Starters:

    Poythress
    Randle
    WCS

    Bench:

    Young (could play the 3)
    Lee
    Dakari

He isn’t seeing the floor with that depth. And we will be fine Shooting. Andrew Harrison shot 38% from 3 in HS, his brother shot 43%, James Young shot almost 45%, Hawkins is a fairly decent shooter too. I don’t think people understand how much of a scorer Aaron Harrison is…..dude scored 35 points IN A ROW in a game!

Kyle can have a great game if EVERY condition is right for him. IE. he’s not being guarded close, the guy he has to guard has no offensive game, and he’s hot. If the stars don’t align for him he can have PAINFUL games.

I think even without Wiltjer Kentucky will be a major title contender on 2014.

I still think people don’t realize how good Karl Towns will be once he gets here. He’s got the skill set to be the #1 pick in the draft and he’s been playing against older kids and pros for several years now. Cal has never had a player like him.

    2. Booker or Vaughn Fr.
    3. Young So.

Let’s not act like Wiltjer has NBA shooting numbers. He shot 36% from the 3 point line last season when he was one of the best offensive options UK had. He needs to improve that number and/or his defense before he can become an asset for an NBA team. By comparison, Mike Miller, who has similar defensive issues to Kyle and is used primarily as an offensive weapon, shot 45% from 3 last season and 41% this season.

Great exchange last week at Cal’s basketball camp between Robic, Kenny Payne, and a random grandpa wearing a Louisville hat. Robic (on the microphone) called out the grandpa for wearing the hat.
The grandpa came out on the floor and took the microphone. He said he was “here to watch Kenny Payne…..my favorite Louisville player ever.”
Robic said, “I bet he shot the ball every time he touched it.”

My opinion of Matt’s basketball knowledge took a big dip when he referred to bosh as one of the nest defenders in the league followed by saying Anderson’s isn’t great but good enough.

Bosh is known league wide as a poor post defender with major liabilities. He is often replaced when he’s getting scorched by Anderson who is a better defender than bosh.

Anderson niche is defense and energy. Bosh is not considered even a top 40 defender in the league. Those comments by matt were shocking IMO. No one with a high basketball IQ would have said bosh was a top defender in the league… Its the exact opposite.

Slap nuts is the worst because he’s one of those guys that thinks he knows a lot about basketball but really doesn’t very much at all.

No one to stretch the floor? There’s a difference from not having an elite shooter and not having anyone that can shoot. The Harrison’s, Young, Poythress, Polson and Hawkins can all knock down open threes. Poythress shot 40% from 3 last year.

Slap nuts thinks you can only have slashers or shooters, elite players can usually do both and we have those guys

Seriously Matt, when you get the “glare” unless you’re prepared to fight either leave the room or at least shut up. You’re pressing your luck on this Hatfield-McCoy topic. It’s a real deal to some of the citizens.

Mikey Waltrip also drove an Alabama national championship car at Talladega, so clearly he’s just playing to the local fan bases that win titles.

#109 – calm down. It was just friendly advice. I lived next door to Mingo county a few years. Easy to get sucker punched there.

Samuels, Caracter, and Jennings all left early. Also went undrafted. Info courtesy of RR post.

UK doesn’t have any football history to speak of, save for the Bear Bryant era. Well, there’s that and the overall losing record.
