For podcast listeners, if you want to save time I would highly recommend listening at 2X speed. You can listen to the entire show in about 45 mins. You may have to slow audio down for John Short calls as he talks fast, but Matt and the majority of callers are easily understandable at 2x. There are mutiple free apps for iphone, ipad, and android that will let you speed up playback. Enjoy!

I went to UK in the college of agriculture, and there were a lot of basketball & football players in my classes….they had no interest in the class and took them cause most were easy. Joker needs to go to something like UF was with Urban Meyer… have 3 and 4 wide or 3 wide and put like 3 ppl in motion…. motion the RB out of the backfield then motion whitlow from WR to the backfield and motion 1 WR from one side to the other and you can run the option out of it, do a QB reed, a shovel pass or if the corners bite up, whitlow can throw over the coverage…

74 — I agree about physical abuse on women, but I’m sorry but I have a hard time ending the discussion with Chad beat on Evelyn. Our society is too quick to make judgments against men in such situations. If we look into this further you realize that Evelyn has intense anger issues and is a very violent woman — as evidenced on her show “Basketball Wives”. Sorry, but I’m not ready to blame Chad yet because as he says, she head-butted him.

63 — Out of a need for career survival, it seems Chad has adopted a whole new persona when it comes to his behavior and attitude on the football field. He purposely kept a low-profile all last year in New England and supposedly was doing the same thing this year in Miami. I agree he was a goof-ball in Cincinnati, but he was a pretty damn good player there. In reality, he has never been a terrible guy as he lives a very clean life — does not go clubbin’, does not act like a gangster, and does not use any substances.

101- Don’t be fooled, UF had FAR more talent to run that scheme. Urban ran the spread option for Tebow b/c he was essentially another RB who could halfway pass and that formation kept the D guessing. Same formation sets/offense went to pot as soon as Tebow was gone. Brantley couldn’t run it. Trey Burton couldn’t, either. Then again, those 2 didn’t have the talent around them that Tebow did, which goes back to my original point.

110 – I’m a Bengals fan as well. He did have his share of drops, but I never felt Chad was the problem with that team. Last year in New England wasn’t good for him because they had no need to really get him involved in the offense. Tom Brady already had his experienced crew and Chad was just an outsider that never really fit in. When he was targeted, he certainly had no problem getting open but he did have some bad drops. I just think somebody will give him a chance because he has incredible speed, quickness, and leaping ability. I just think he has to get a lot of snaps to get comfortable.

The fears have been fuelled, he said, by a decision in the United States to sell off a massive reserve of the gas at the Hugoton Gas Field in Kansas.

“They’ve been stockpiling it since the 1960s,” Metallino said. “In 1996, the U.S. government decided to begin selling off the reserve by 2015. No one has stepped up to produce it.”

Once it is gone, the world would have to count on other countries including Russia, Algeria, and Qatar – but that supply would only last some 40 years, according to the National Research Council said in a Nation Geographic Magazine article from February 2011.

Where Congress once mandated that the federal government keep a reserve of this crucial gas, it reversed course several decades later. In 1996, Congress moved to privatize the federal helium program, requiring all of the government’s helium supplies to be sold off by 2015. “The legislation in 1996 says we were supposed to get out of the helium business,” says Joe Peterson, the Bureau of Land Management’s assistant field manager for helium in Amarillo. “The hope was by 2015, by the time the reserve was sold down, that new sources of helium would be online and take up the demand. However, it has not happened yet.”

143- I agree. What we have to remember, though, is that most all offenses become more vanilla with lesser players running them. That aspect alone constrains the versatility of the same playbook right off the bat. Also, I fully expect USC to maximize the potential of the pro style. They have the players to wring out its possibilities while remaining vanilla in appearance when they can or have to.

UK might not be able to execute anything else other than what we’re seeing. That’s what worries me.

178 – I just don’t see it. Yes, USC has some major firepower on offense. LSU’s secondary gave up plays because that’s what they schemed for. They played to shut down the running game. The opposite would be true vs USC. Both teams would look to stop the pass first. Clock runs, lower scoring game. I just think you’re giving way too much credit to USC’s offense. Defense is what wins games.

    WR- Lee, Woods (1000yd receivers)
plus Flournoy, Agholor, Farmer – (insane talents battling for 3rd WR spot)

TE- Grimble and Telfair (huge athletes that are mismatches)

You tell me what defense you play? Preparing for Oregon is vastly different than preparing for USC… Oregon runs the ball… plays to SEC defenses because thats what the SEC see’s all year long in conference…. the Deep ball is SOOOO hard to gameplan for when you dont face it…. SEC teams dont face it… I have played football for 9 years and I coach a middle school… there are just too many entangibles to prepare for the deep ball…. especially when the team u r playing have 2 1000yd rushers in the backfield too.
