Kroger Speaks

UK student Vincent Swope got a phone call this morning, confirming that he’ll receive his ten stacks.

We encourage everyone to continue shopping at Kroger. They’re good people. Forbes named Kroger America’s Most Generous Company in 2011.

It’ll be interesting to see if Kroger does the $10K half court shot again next season. And lets call Referee -kid by his real name, referee-kid. #WhoIsVincentSwope

If paying Referee Guy was never in question, what was the source of the story that Kroger might not pay, or at least was reviewing the matter?

With that cash, he can purchase exactly 3.33 Pitino “special” health insurance coverages.

Nothing to do with if he did or did not violate the rules of the shot, however using KSR and it’s fan base to intimidate a company into making a payment based on customer reaction vs contractual obligation is just improper. An attorney should know better. Simply embarrassed that our fans felt it necessary to harass Kroger a UK sponsor over this event. Nothing should have gone to press until a decision was made by Kroger and publicized. KSR’s Matt Jones should apologize for taking KSR’s reputation and put it in a position to press a sponsor into payment, aka blackmail. Really, is it any press is good press no matter who you harm on KSR. Thought if anything KSR stood above that tactic. You’d think we were in Louisville…

Pretty much proves my point 17 with all due respect. How would you like it if you were forced to payout money over something that you hadn’t done or decided because a group of people felt you “ought” to pay it. Wouldn’t be surprised if Kroger stops supporting the shot, would’t blame them at all…
Again not saying the guy didn’t earn it, just that all this should never have happened and makes UK fans look petty… Might as well storm the court after beating Southwest Pawtuck U. now… We’re down there with the rest of the occutards.

Would you be saying that about Koger if they decided not to pay the guy?

“would you be saying that about Kroger if they decided not to pay the guy”

Depends, on what they give as a reason, the fact is if he signed an agreement that he would shoot the ball “BEFORE”
crossing mid-court, then yes I’d support them, he was clearly 18 to 10 feet over the line when he let it fly. Great shot though, but still over the line with the release, as to the toe, well it’s like wondering if they hit a three, or not, up to the ref/judges Doesn’t matter if I like it or not, rules are the rules, fair is fair, just don’t like Cats fans making #occupymovement overtones, it’s below our stature, and up to the shooter to determine the outcome. Threats against them made them pay and the presumption was they were not going to pay, however, we’ll never know if that was the truth or not based on the intimidation by media force.

I have a serious question. Exactly who was the person who started this nonsense that Kroger was not going to pay. Was it just a rumor or did someone actually make the comment that the man would not get paid? What was the guys name that actually said the winner would not get paid or was this just a publicity stunt?

How can Kroger be the most Generous COmpany? I saw a commercial tonight during the BCS game showing how much BP has done for the gulf states and tourism….
