Another reason not to pay attention to Rivals.com in basketball recruiting: In their team rankings, they still do not show Randle or Dakari on our team commitment list. Evan and Scout.com kill Rivals.com in BB recruiting. Football on the other hand, is the opposite.

There is no way Kennedy Meeks should be a McD’s AA. He isn’t close to any of the rest of the players on this east squad. The sole reason he received consideration is that he signed with UNC. The listed weight of 285 is very conservative. He should spend less time guaranteeing wins over us and start focusing on how to avoid diabetes.

    9) Scout is garbage. Rivals is a far better service overall. So what if they don’t have it updated, their rankings and analysis is updated. I looked at the last 3 years the other day to see what service did the best job and obviously theirs pros and cons on both sides but Scout had a lot of misses. ESPN was actually the most accurate in my opinion… their only big gaff was having John Wall 4th or 5th.

    Some notables:

2010 – Rivals had the biggest goof this year ranking Josh Selby #1 overall over Irving, Knight, T Jones, Enes Kanter, C.J. Leslie, and Jared Sullinger. Scout had Irving #2 that year behind Barnes so overall they did a better job at the top that year. They did however have Jeremy Lamb all the way down at #88, the lowest of all the services.

2011 – Bad year for Scout. Their final rankings had MKG #6 overall… #6 overall?? They had him ranked behind Andre Drummond (#2) Austin Rivers (#3) Quincy Miller (#4) and James Michael MacAdoo (#5) who is probably going to return for a 3rd season after a massivley disappointing sophmore year.

2011 – Scout also had Wiltjer ranked ahead of Chane Behannen, Otto Porter, Michael Carter-Williams, LaQuinton Ross, Mo Harkless, Jarnell Stokes (not sure how I feel about this one)

There were goofs on ESPN and Rivals with this class as well, but to me it seems like Scout misses badly more than the other two sites, and what they do get right the other sites usually have the player ranked right about the same.

2012 – Scout had Willie Cauley Stein #48. Everyone was low on him, but Rivals and ESPN at least had him at #40

2012 – Alex Poythress only made it to #13 on ESPN, but Scout had him all the way at #7. Rivals wasn’t much better rating Alex #8, but Alex had a few issues other services downgraded him for but Scout put him at #7.

2013 – Scout currently has Randle at #5. The other 2 services have him at #4 and #2 respectively, but how you think that kid is #5 is absurd, ESPN having him at #4 is questionable enough but #5 is a stretch.

2013 – Scout has Marcus Lee ranked #21. He’s a victim of a stacked class but at least Rivals realizes how valuable his motor is and has bumped him to #16

2013 – Both Rivals and ESPN have Dakari Johnson the #1 Center and ranked #12 and #13 but Scout has him at #18. Time will tell who was right but they always seem to be the service that has a guy ranked way different then then other two.

17: LOL! And you’re also a racist in America now if you are a veteran, somebody who wants limited instead of unlimited government, if you’re in the Tea Party, if you own a gun, if you love truth, if you hate tyranny, if you are a constitutional conservative, a government corruption whistleblower, anti tax, pro freedom, a Christian, etc. Now add to that list if you say somebody looks like somebody else! But…I trust that was a joke! Cuz Hicks does look like Big Cuz!

West has a great 1-2 in Randle and Wiggins, but they’re not nearly as deep as the west and they have the game’s 2 worst players… Fraiser’s average ranking is #35, Meeks’ #48… how did Meeks make this team? Throwning UNC a bone?

    East Squad Projected Starters?

    I’ve got…

    G – Kasey Hill
    G – Wayne Selden
    F – Andrew Wiggins
    F – Julius Randle
    F – Noah Vonleh
