Kentucky’s offense rolls to an easy 101-49 win over Lafayette

Twany Beckham saw his first action of the season as his late game lay-up pushed Kentucky over the 100 point margin. Kentucky’s offense looked as good as it has this year from start to finish. Alex Poythress was a beast once again tonight, now with back-to-back strong performances. Poythress only missed one shot all night, finishing 9-10 from the field with 22 points. Kyle Wiltjer led the team in scoring with 23 points, hitting 7 three pointers and doing his best Tayshaun Prince impression. Kentucky shot 64.5% from the field and finished with a blistering 57.9% 3-point shooting percentage. The Cats were good on the defensive end, coming up with 15 steals (4 by Nerlens Noel). Kentucky also looked good in transition, finishing a number of easy baskets in numbers up situations.

Kentucky was able to rebound from their first loss of the season in dazzling fashion in front of a strong home crowd in Rupp Arena.

Stay tuned for more post-game coverage…

Poythress is definitely a Beast but he is the guy that Calipari is looking for more effort. He has monstrous potential. Poythress skill plus Gilchrist heart equals Incredible Hulk.

Nerlens obviously has a ton of potential if he can get stronger around the basket, but I love the effort he’s giving out there. He’s playing really playing hard and getting after it out there.

Harrow must be sick. Can’t believe he is considering transfering. He practiced for a full year, so he knew very well what it was going to be like to be the starting point guard. He saw Tigue have no fun the first 20 games last year, so he just needs to buckle his chinstrap.

Assuming he’s really sick, hope he starts feeling better soon.

    17. Was commenting on what #6. said. I have no idea what he’s thinking. Was just saying it would surprise me if #6 is correct since Harrow had all last year to watch what it w/b like to play PG for Cal. I just hope the kid gets healthy and has a good year.

Harrow really is planning to transfer folks. I received word earlier today from two very reliable sources. I agree that a transfer makes no sense at all. Why would he do that after sitting out an entire year??? I can only speculate that Cal rode him too hard and he finallt reached his breaking point.

I only hope a transfer (if it does happen) is not due to him having a very serious health condition. He seems like a really good kid.

Ignore 6. Anyone who posts duplicate posts on numerous message boards is just an attention seeker and likely a rival fan. Harrow is sick and will be fine.

Harrow transferring is the craziest idea I think I have ever heard. The young man transfers to KY, goes through a grueling year of work with a national championship team, is the heir-apparent to captain the ship this year, waits his turn, and then transfers because the coach is too hard on him, giving him possibly only one year of college eligibility left. That seems a bit ridiculous to me. But then again, stranger things have happened in the world, I guess!

Harrow isn’t transferring. Quit starting rumors. He has already played, so he can’t redshirt. Plus he just sat out a year. He has mono.

Not sure there is any credit to the rumor that Harrow wants to transfer. However, if that is true and he doesn’t have the guts, heart, and pride for the big stage then let him go.
