Kentucky Vs Portland Saturday Morning Links

Look alive, Eloy! Good morning Cat fans and get ready for game number nine of the season. Today the Cats will square off against Portland for the third year in a row in a series that has shown UK’s dominance. This year’s team hasn’t exactly dominated anybody. Will they buck that trend today with Louisville and SEC play getting closer every day? I guess we will find out, until them get ready with some links:

-After Tuesday’s lack of second half effort against Samford Coach Cal kicked of some AM conditioning for two days this week. Coach Cal said this group has the furthest to go of any in his four years. Coach Cal’s boot will hopefully whip this team into shape.

-One reason the workouts may prove to be necessary is due to complacency.  Most of this team hasn’t worked the way they should and Coach Cal looks to end that complacency.

-Whatever was behind Ryan Harrow’s leave of absence earlier this season has him working to regain his team’s acceptance. If the young point starts knocking down shots and dishing out dimes then he should have no problem rejoining the fold.

-Unfortunately the UK volleyball’s team came to an end last night. Read up on how the game played out and start looking forward to next year. The ladies will return just about their entire team which will have the makings for another tournament run.

-Former Kentucky Mr. Basketball Anthony Hickey has been suspended by LSU for violating team rules. Hickey played in one of the best state tournament games of all time and has been one of the better players the state has produced in recent years. Hopefully the Kentucky product can get it together down in Baton Rouge.

Finally, if you needed another excuse to attend the game today the 1996 team is going to be on hand signing autographs before and after the game. Before tip off they will be in the food court at Rupp and after they  will be at the Fayette Mall from 3-5.

Anyone heard any news about the OC search? I still haven’t ever heard who might be Plan B if Brown doesn’t come to UK.

Pitino had it going on back then. If he’d only not been so damn greedy we’d probably have pasted UCLA by now.Just kidding, I don’t blame him for taking the money and running. We all probably would do the same thing if presented the opportunity.

Right on # 5. Any football coach UK hires is gonna be fired within 4 years, we suck at football. Always have, always will. Just like IU, not a footbal school. Never has, never will be.
