Umm, we’re not going 14-2. The only team on there we will be capable of losing to is UNC. Sorry, but Kansas lost a ton and are not going to beat us in that game. I think, as much as it hurts, unc will beat us in Rupp. Just a one day rest between it and the St. Johns game. That really screws us over. The freedom hall game sucks, but fans will show up because we’ll be ranked in the top 3 and just be coming off a beatodwn of louisville.

The 3-game stretch of St Johns, UNC, and @ Indiana is JUST LIKE two years ago when we played UCONN (MSG), unc, then @ indiana. we won all those games. We can win all three again.

St John game will be a good game. Would like to hear more about this game. I believe they upset several teams last year and are bringing in a good class of recruits. Maybe we should be talking of this game ad we do the unc game?

Do you people realize that st. John’s lost 9 seniors and replaced them with a few talented freshmen but not nearly enough to even give UK a game, and Momo Jones’ transfer from Arizona was denied…Cats by 20+

Wow! Love the only 4 games on the road. Come on season ticket lottery!!

I believe St. John’s is losing 9 scholarship players of this past year’s roster. Maybe even more. And they’re best returning player decided to transfer. They do have a top 5 class coming in, but that is because they have 9 players in it.

  22. Catfan55
    5:38 pm July 14, 2011 Permalink

Must be why we haven’t heard anything about the st johns game. Lost nine seniors! Go cats

19 I agree, I’m thinkin St Johns recruiting class is #2 in the nation though. Not sure if its
the overall talent or just the bulk of the class, like you said they have 9 new players. UK
    will spank that ass !!!

Is there no game in Freedom Hall this year?

I see 15-1. I just can’t see losing to anyone but UNC, and even that is not a given.

  27. DorisBurkeisdumb

15-1 is a solid guess but 14-2 or 16-0 are reasonable. Perfect #21. And Kansas cant hang from say January on, but November 15 that could be a tough game. Miami of Ohio beats us 2 years ago in Rupp in November if not for some Wall magic. 1 game at a time.

    4. That’s an either/or – we will play the winner of that game. Although it would be fun to watch the team play twice on one day.

  31. siestakeycat
    5:52 pm July 14, 2011 Permalink

It’s 15 games people. Those two games listed on November 20th are part of a tournament, and it’s and either/or type of situation on that date. Therefore, we will only play one of those two teams, not both. That makes 15 games, not 16. UK will go 15-0 or 14-1, no worse.

No game in Louisville? That’s a first. That cannot be right.

  33. Kyle

The tournament games are indeed in Uncasville, Conn. and not Springfield. And the UALR game on Jan. 3 is in Louisville (not Lexington).

  36. cracka
    6:03 pm July 14, 2011 Permalink

st johns has a large class, but not a single 5* in there … so, who knows if there’s an impact freshman in the mix

their top recruit is 40th overall by scout … that is 18 spots below our lowest ranked recruit (wiltjer)

they’re returning less than NINE ppg! it will be interesting to see unc’s schedule when it comes out to see what they have to do right before playing us

  37. boyd crowder's bible

SEC/BE screwed us. we have to alternate home-away games for the tourney. meaning @UofL, @UNC, & @B.E.tourney game (with IU at home) every other year. makes for very uneven sched. year to year.

  38. cracka
    6:08 pm July 14, 2011 Permalink

oh, i didn’t know polee left the team … there went half of that 9 points, he avg 4.4 of it

Everyone that thinks we are losing to UNC at home- stop. We are not and will not lose that game. These guys have already been playing together building that team bond. They will have nearly 2 months practice with 7 games plus the exhibitions! Cal has not lost at home and we will be favored vegas-bet that.

Worst case scenario is 13-2 (losses to UNC and … gasp, UL?). 14-1 more likely. 15-0 not impossible, but not likely with such a young team.
