Kentucky moves up to Joe Lunardi’s “Last Four In”

Believe.

Joe Lunardi is working overtime over at the ESPN Bracketology offices this weekend.  The man who never stops forecasting the NCAA Tournament moved Kentucky up into the “Last Four In” group, replacing Temple for the third spot.

There’s still a lot of basketball to be played, but tonight’s win was huge for Kentucky’s resume.  Now they just need to get it done against Mississippi State, win at least one of the two road games, and play Florida close in the season finale.

While the fans worry about March, Alex Poythress said the team is ignoring the tournament talk and taking it one game at a time.

Cats.

I just can’t be happy enough with how these guys played tonight and with Vandy. They are fighting. Win or not, they are fighting. They are playing with heart, and that is what is so great about the win tonight

Huge win. I still can’t understand sitting at 19-8 being the last 4 in? some of the teams that are pretty solid in the tourney is pretty bad. No way alot of those teams are better than this team.

Sill do not like this team. I hope they can get it together and make it to the big dance, but I wouldn’t bet on it.

    7. When you get spanked by UT it doesn’t help. Tonight was a must win. Could use a few more.

    7) apparently, we still have to convince the committee that we can hold our own without nerlens. Gotta assume it will take a strong showing for the remaining games to do so. I know Matt jones says the 30 pt loss to UT is the same as losing on a tip in but I tend to disagree. Still gotta pass the good ol “eye test” without nerlens. With that being said, we are def better than several of the teams that are considered “in” right now.

Lunardi says we knocked Temple out, but in his “winners” and “losers” he doesn’t even list Temple as a loser. Odd.

Good game tonight by the Cats, but this team can still get beat by anyone on a given night. They are like Dr. Jekyll (Missouri) and Mr. Hyde (Tennessee). I think they played great tonight, but I don’t see them going very far in the tournament even if they get in.

    9) you may want to change your name, your comments are misleading and say otherwise bout you being a #1 fan. Or maybe look up the definition of a fan and what it truly means to be a fan and member of BBN. SUGGESTION: “#1 FAIR WEATHER FAN” as a screen name instead. It seems more appropriate….

    Lunardi is way overrated.

Can ESPN please stop with this guy? There’s still two weeks left in the regular season and the tournaments. He quite frankly has no more or less of an idea than the rest of us.

Joe Lunardi had better guard his yard or UK may keep climbing the bracket ladder.

Great win over a team that beat Florida just a couple of days ago. I know it is unlikely, but after the way they played tonight I am not quite ready to count the Florida game as an automatic L the way I was just a week ago. The Rupp crowd needs to bring it again for that game, and with another good effort, anything can happen.

The games i worry about are at Arkansas and even the game against UGA. Georgia is playing their best basketball of the year right now, and Stegman can be a tough place to play.

great game for ky. who cares about joe lunardi. he has no say in the selection committee that I know of. go big blue

Don’t understand all the emphasis on what Lunardi thinks. He’s not on the selection committee, is not an NCAA advisor….only a talking head for ESPN. His guesses are not much more accurate than any of ours. I think he starts his “backetology” after the first week of the season! Huge win for the Cats! Keep it rolling.
