After a game that started in a manner that would have led you to believe it would be a LONG day, the Cats buckled down, found their groove and played with a great degree of toughness in falling to the Tide . The first half was a bit strange, with the Cats allowing one big play (an 80 yard run) and giving up one stupid one (the Hartline fumble) that put them in a hole that would be almost impossible for this offensive-deficient team to dig its way out of. But then all of a sudden, Kentucky played like we believed they would. The defense was solid, with very few mistakes. The offense was without much punch, but able to move the ball a bit and get a couple of big plays. One can point to the Hartline fumble or David Jones inability to recover the fumble and say that the Cats were unlucky. But you can also point to the two missed field goals and the Alabama fumble inside of the ten and say that Alabama got unlucky. In the end, the better team won, but Kentucky showed its for real.
No loss is good, but this one isnt bad. Go Cats.
