Kentucky is No. 3 in the AP Poll

You’re exactly right, Coach Cal. Your Kentucky Wildcats are No. 3 in both polls.

If you saw the top five in the Coaches Poll just a few minutes ago, you might as well stop reading now because the AP is identical. Kentucky is No. 3 in the AP poll this week behind Syracuse and Ohio State. Undefeated Louisville moved up to No. 4 after big home wins over IUPUI and something called a Farleigh Dickinson. That’s a tough schedule ya got there, baby bro.

Kentucky received four first place votes.

Alright I can deal with that.

Ohio St & UL is the bittler pill to swallow with where they are.

Louisville is a good team but they’re absolutely, positively no way in hell the 4th best team in the country right now. Don’t be surprised if UK and UL are 1 and 2 come December 31. It makes for great TV, don’t ya know?

Have no problem with Syracuse… Ohio St. should have moved down. Let’s face it, Louisville shouldn’t even be a Division I school with the schedule they have played so far….. I’ll take No. 3 though…. for now.

Three of the first four posts are about U of L. Why is everyone obsessed with U of L’s ranking? Rankings are meaningless right now when very few teams have played more than one or two quality opponents or true road games.

I’m confused as to why this blog is so concerned about Louisville.

Louisville has not been tested because Sticky Ricky and Tommy “Turtleneck” Jurich like to schedule cupcake home games inside thier lavish confines of the Chicken Hut. If they were smart they would schedule tougher non conference opponents and avoid losing to teams like Morehead St in the first round of the NCAA tournament. LMAO! #4 seriously? Ahh it wont last they’ll be out of the top ten within a couple of weeks into conference play.

    5, 9, & 10..

Well lets see. Umm, they are UL…you remember, our in state rival? the school who took a previous coach of ours as a has been, umm….they chat about us as much if not more than we do them….umm….gee, I don’t know why we would chat about a rival and where they are ranked with a schedule like they have.

Hmmm…boy this is tough. C’mon guys, you know those answers before you ask them.

#13 I know you are being a smartass but you are actually right. The UL sites are more interested in what this site is talking about than anything else. Feel free to come here to be entertained since you get nothing from your websites.

I live in Louisville and their talk radio shows always us this site’s material. I listen to it to get all the UK news. It’s funny how when UK beats UNC, it doesn’t get mentioned in the first segment. Guess what they talked about his morning in the first segment? UK losing.

17…I noticed that. The most over hyped team this year so far (UL pending a game they play somebody) and I hate to say that because I am a faithful SEC guy…but?

*hell Murray State Racers (10-0)a re shown as #24 on AP, and LOST on ESPN poll!
Racers could put the ‘smack down’ on lil bro….

Polls seem about right for what has happened so far. You can always debate the rankings for a couple of teams, at this time of the year. But it’s too early in the season to get worked up about any of it. Glad to see Murray State getting some love from the AP poll.

AS long as we stay top 5 all year, that’s what matters. #1 is for fans. Being in top 5 at selection time is were it’s at, and of course #1 at the end.

Don’t you know Vanetti and Deener are bitchin.

  24. Poopface
    1:50 pm December 12, 2011 Permalink

Yes, Louisville’s schedule has been cake thus far. It always is this early in the season, but they still have a much tougher overall schedule than UK. UK has to schedule tougher non-conference games because the SEC blows.

23…as long as we are in the top 4 at the end before the tourney seedings come out. There are four #1 seeds but I see your overall point.

25…But OSTate played a ranked opponent and Sully didn’t dress. umm-umm, boy this is hard.

UL at #4 is a joke, that is why people are talking about them. If they were#15 where they belong no one would pay them any mind. They will be exposed for what they really are soon enough.

First off, I’m a UK fan. Second, we are in December. These polls are as useful as toilet paper. I care about the polls come March and April.

Third, I have no issue with Louisville being ranked as high as they are. They were preseason top ten and have yet to lose. Again, its December, not March.

I can see how OSU would be above us. Kansas is ranked and they were completely without Sully, while we had no excuse to be without Jones. Syracuse at 1 is fine, especially because the past couple of years, they’ve disappeared from the radar around tournament time. Louisville, well that just makes it better when we (hopefully) beat them in Rupp.

    35. Rick Bozich and Eric Crawford. I am sure after the big W over highly ranked HS team, Fairleigh Dickinson, they soiled their undies and had to give them a #1 vote.

OSU should still be #2. They would have won and been #1 with Sully. Who cares about rankings right now? They don’t matter until mid February.

I’m sick about us pathetic UK fans dogging Louisville, OSU, and others in the polls. We don’t belong in the top 10. Jones makes me sick to my stomach. There is no way in h-ll that a player of his caliber finishes with 4 points; 1 rebound; and, 6 turnovers simply by having an off night–something else is up. On top of this, he did not support his team while on the bench–to him it was all about me, me, me, me, me, me. This team, as all of Cal’s teams, suck at shooting freethrows–maybe they feel this is beaneath them. Why would this be true of every team Cal has? This loss to Indiana was embarrassing. There is not one player on their team who would start at UK.
