Kentucky is No. 3 in the AP poll

The AP released its preseason college basketball poll today and it’s pretty obvious they copied off the USA Today folks. The top ten is identical to the one we saw last week from the coaches. Someone should look into that.

1. Indiana
2. Louisville
3. Kentucky
4. Ohio State
5 .Michigan
6. NC State
7. Kansas
8. Duke
9. Syracuse
10. Florida

Go Cats.

The SEC has the same amount of top 10 schools as the ACC. The state of KY has the same amount of top 10 schools as NC. Movin’ on up. Of course KY will be superior to all the usurpers come March……….

    Florida should be higher

Kentucky is not the third best team in the country RIGHT NOW. But, come March when it really matters they will be THE best team in the country. This team is a lot like the 2011 Final Four team, a lot of questions early, but by the end of the season they had it figured out. Go Cats!!!

I’m certain that Flordia would be higher maybe even Number 1 if they had their own ESPN weekly show, correct coach billy!

I think Kentucky is ranked too high right now. Probably more like 10th place.

the Top 5 of the poll can all take daytrips to see each other. That’s gotta be the closest grouping of top 5 teams ever.

Top 4 teams are from the tri-state area. Local Dominance minus local talent…..:)

Ohio state is badddd. How are they #4? Who do they have Thomas who’s bad and the bad white point guard. Kansas also, no way they deserve to be top 10, Jeff Withey? Ooh I’m so scared. UK is down this year but the rest of the country isn’t that good and I would wager we have the most talent again. Sorry but I’m supposed to believe that Blackshear is gonna make last year’s Ville team all that much better? No, they got lucky last year making it to the 4. Indiana has Zeller and the Zimbabwe looking player, that’s not great either. No reason by end of season we can’t be at the top again.

Do they not play basketball on the west coast anymore?..

Florida is experienced and definitely underrated at number 10. I would have them in the Top 5 pre-season. Kenny Boynton, Patric Young, Mike Rosario, and Eric Murphy is a very solid returning nucleus and that will bode well for them in the non-conference.

November 13th. These rankings will shake up for sure. UK’s young frosh are not ready for Duke this early in the season.

I’m just not sold on louisville – they stunk for much of last year, at one time it looked like they might be NIT bound. Then they got a little hot, won the (weak) big-east tourney, and received the easiest road to the F4 of anyone else there. Once there, we beat’em fo the 2nd time. Now they’ve lost Chris Smith and Kyle Kuric and return a inconsistent peyton siva, add an oft-injured blackshear and montrezl Harrell – suddenly they’re a national title contender??? I don’t think so. I’m betting old RP has a mediocre team and a mediocre season … again.

I wouldn’t be surprised if it is Indiana and Kentucky in the final game which would just be vicious…. I also truly don’t understand why UCLA isn’t in the top ten even with Muhammad ailing?

Louisville is ranked so high because Kevin Ware is the real deal. No, really, he is. I’m serious this time.
