Kentucky handles Lamar 86-64

cats

All Kentucky’s starters were in double figures as the Wildcats took care of the Lamar Cardinals 86-64 . The Cats move to 12-1 on the season with the recently defeated Louisville Cardinals coming to town on New Year’s Eve. Michael Kidd-Gilchrist led the Cats with 18 points and Darius Miller added 15 points, shooting 4 of 6 from three-point land. Terrence Jones was back in action, but came off the bench and added 9 points and 6 rebounds. More on the victory a little later!

CATS played ok, but bad news as our Lady Kats were upset on the road. Played really poorly, too bad as that will hurt the tourney seed…As for the guys did as expected, need to D rebound better vs loserville.

On a positive note…Brandon Knight had a good game. 23 points on 10-13 shooting, 6 assist, 2 steals and just 2 turnovers. Wall is not playing well…poor shooting and way too many turnovers early in the season but both players are on very bad teams.

Mark it down, the toughest SEC game UK will play this year will be @ Miss St. When is Dee Bost going to graduate. Those 2 guys underneath for them are nasty. Terrance will have to bring it when we play them 2/21

Loserville sucks!!!! They’ve played 13 games this year (1 game for every second it takes Rick to reach climax) and only 1 of those games was on the road!!! Vandy was the best team they’ve played until tonight and I knew when they faced a real team, they would lose. Ranking them #4 in the nation was the stupidest thing I’ve seen.

    LOSERville is WAAAAYYYY overrated.

    GO BIG BLUE

Good new is that we won…bad news is that Lamar played us pretty even in 2nd half. They also got most of the 50/50 balls in the first half. If we couldn’t stop James (best PG on floor tonight) how in the world are we going to stop Smith??…Vargas continues to do nothing when he gets in there and Wiltjer still no defense or rebounding. Offensive rebounding continues to be our achilles heel and 3 pt. defense. They couldn’t hit their shots and it wasn’t because of our good tight D.

9} I agree but at UF will be tough as well. That crowd is crazy and if the gaytors shoot well it will be tough. MSU giving Baylor a good game which is good for the SEC since as a league we have not done well. One thing in our favor at MSU is Stansbury sucks so his game plan should hurt MSU.

How bad is our bench? Those of us who actually bet on these games have to sweat out the last minutes in hopes of Jarrod Polson not giving alley-oops to the opposing team. Luckily I had UK -21, but almost lost it. Eloy does a no-look pass to a Lamar player. Jarrod Polson struggles to even dribble out the clock when he should be running the WBA offense. Score some points while you have the chance! Youtube dunks < Dunks on tv. A win is a win, but seriously watching these guys struggle makes me wonder what if we had to depend on them for a game due to foul trouble or injury. Last year Jon Hood led the NCAA in a term I remember someone talking about per minute he played… OPER(opposing player efficiency rating), allowing the most points, rebs, ast, etc.

Miss St just got jobbed by the stripes. They had Baylor on the ropes and came up with a steel. Dee Bost got tacked out of bounds and a no call gave it back to Baylor who then went up by 2.

26, I really don’t think Cal will take the game Saturday lightly, and he’ll keep telling our players not to also….Of Course Pitino tanked this game so UK wouldn’t be their first loss, so I guess in this “ONE” instance we’ll have to settle for number 2 on the Tards

Seriously what is up with Jarrod Polson?? Point shaving is very possible. Kid does not try to score and always insists on holding the ball midcourt with minutes plus left on the clock. Wiltjer is a freshman, gets to play the garbage minutes but he hustles and throws up shots. Its one thing to run the clock out, but its another to PLAY. These guys practice just like the rest of the team why not run some plays while they have the chance to be on the court. Its a privilege to be on scholarship playing in their homestate….show some respect to the UK fans and bettors. Seriously KSR needs to investigate this, why is Polson being a ball hog, or is he trying to point shave?

The announcers for the UL game said that Rick Pitino told them that his comments were taken out of context when he said that he would not coach after his contract ended and that did not mean he was done. He has been questioned for making that comment and now he is back peddling. What typical Pitino BS!

    #41 Lol

#42 I’m assuming you’re joking because I thought it was funny but if not, you seem to forget that Polson does exactly what Calipari tells him to do, and when, and how much, and for how long. If he starts launchin 3’s when Calipari told him to run the clock out he will get worked over by Calipari after teh game….. And by worked over I mean yelled at alot with hurtful overtones and I would guess followed by a bunch of running.

But yeah anyways, the game this weekend will be great. Point Blank Period.

It is a good thing that we lost to g’town, because now we will have a chip on our shoulder when we come to Rupp. I watched the second half of the UK game after the UofL game, and you all are not as good as you think you are. If we hit some 3’s and davis or jones get in foul trouble like the iu game we will win easy. Dieng is much stronger then davis in the post, and he is tall enough to prevent the lobs, so don’t expect davis to go off. jones is struggling and teague had six TO tonight. This game will be much closer then some of you think and I think a mad UofL team wins by 4.

#48 We were playing down to our opponent, something the Cards know nothing about and can’t do because they would get beat by teams like College of Charleston lol

Oh and do you think Siva forget how to pass the ball or something? WTF was up with driving and just assuming the ref would bail him out? Which happened alot I’ll give you that, but come on…. He had like no assist until the end of the game but had plenty of driving and jumping into whoever was in front of him… His own teamates stared him down after he did that 3 times in a row without even glancing at any of them lol
