Kentucky gets one vote in the Coaches Poll

At least one of the coaches on the USA Today Board of Coaches believes in the Wildcats, because Kentucky received one vote, at the No. 25 spot, in this week’s poll.  Unfortunately, that one vote wasn’t enough to bump the Cats back into the Top 25.

Kentucky also failed to make the AP top 25 poll for the second week in row after sneaking back into the rankings in week 15.

Nobody likes polls anyway.

Cats.

Stop writing about this. It’s obviously me that keeps voting for the Cayts to stay in the top 25, and that’s only because I’m trying to keep the fightin’ Baylor Bears in the tourney.

Looked at some projections today and nearly every one that had us in, stuck us in one of the play-in games. Don’t know how I feel about that.

Sounds like I’m not loving Louisville. Then again, when have I ever really loved Louisville?

How envious are you of your son that he is living in Miami and you are not?

“You know, I am very envious. I’m struggling in Louisville right now and he gets to – I am actually – we are practicing at 6:15 in the morning tomorrow and then we are flying, a bunch of us are flying into his last home game against Arkansas-Little Rock

In 2004, #25 Utah State was left out. UNLV at #25 was also left out in the 1990’s.

In the 1970’s, prior to conference tournaments, only one team from each conference made the tournament. So, in 1971 #2 USC did not make it because UCLA was #1 and beat USC twice that year. In 1973, #3 Maryland did not get in because they could not get by NC State.

I’m thinking that for a team like ours that has enormous potential, a play-in game would be an advantage. It would give us a game to settle in and then make a run. If we do get in, I would not mind being in the play-in game.

12, NO on UK being #1.

    #25, I could see.
The point for the poll request was:
    to get a gauge on
commenters view as things stand on a week to week basis.

AG has had several fantastic tip-ins via offensive rebounds the last few games. And he’s only going to get better as he AND HIS TEAMMATES (see Julius and Ryan) learn how to snap him out of his negative-disruptive patterns. Julius yelling at him to “PASS THE BALL” was perfect. And as Julius and Ryan, particularly – Hood, Wiltjer, & Jarrod all need to do the same as the elder-statesmen, AG will emerge over the next few weeks and in the tourneys as one of the elite players in the country.

#15 Actually we have to be approximately one of the top 37 teams to get in the tourney. Give or take a few. Everyone who wins there conference tourney gets a bid. Most who win the conference regular season get in with the exception of 1 bid conferences which tend to be your smaller ones. Whatever is left over are at large bids. Unless we win the SEC tourney, we well be in the running for an at large bid

Always felt that “NO Matter What” that this team has a Good of chance winning the SEC tournament as ANY team in the SEC conference.
    Still feel that way.
When all this, “are we in the big dance or not?” conversation started, I expressed the idea about the “Winner of the SEC Tournament” is AUTO to the big dance.
Some didn’t want to hear that type of thinking.
