Kentucky basketball’s new intro video

Is this the sign of a new attitude?

They sure played like it.

Actually Uncle Julius, we are your nieces and nephews.

A lot of energy from the bench guys in this video. Poythress speaks his lines so lackadaisically though.

Really? That’s the best we can do to get the place going? A simple gif of the John Wall dance circa BBM, Demarcus Cousins placing a long distance phone call, or Archie winking would get me more hype. Who does our marketing?? Am I alone here?

Archie needed to show a little more enthusiasm in the video.

This is a bit awkward to watch…..

By the way the song is Public Service Announcement by Jay Z

This is awful. Poythreess, again, shows lack of energy except, every player save maybe Ryan Harrow looks dumb and staged.

Every time I hear Ryan talk I think of Tipton being an idiot…
I like this a lot, I am a sucker for the traditional beginning of each half videos but if i were in Rupp tonight, this would’ve felt great.

The kids aren’t actors, they’re basketball players. And they don’t have the same swag as some of our most recent teams, they’re obviously not going to come off like they do. What have we been talking about all season?

I love this video. It gives us a personality (something we haven’t had) and a rallying cry. Having Nerlens deliver the final line is an awesome touch.

    “Let’s fight…like Wildcats.”

Anyone even remember the origin of our name? Look it up! Nice little nod to history if you look at it from perspective.

This team needs to play with a chip on their shoulder. They need to have that mentality-every game, “This is the most important game on our schedule.” They need to be fighters.

    This is all of us.

    “Let’s fight.”

    I’m in. Go Cats.

If you were there tonight you would understand how much this video meant. So for anyone saying this video is bad, I would bet you weren’t there. That place was dead before this video and everyone expected the same old intro. A bunch of highlight plays and N****** in Paris by Jay Z for the intros that we’ve seen a thousand times. Everyone in there was nervous about a loss. Then the new video came on. Myself and everyone around me got goosebumps and pumped for the game. This team showed they needed the crowd and knew it was going to be hard to win without it. For the first time you felt like they were “all in” and were ready to play for the name on the front instead of the one on the back. They finally went away from last years same intro and found one of their own. We may not have the talent to do anything in the post season this year or enough talent to even make it that far, but that video was the beginning of us buying in and understanding they aren’t going down without a fight as they showed tonight. So for anyone giving UK athletics a hard time over the video get over yourself. Its possibly the best thing they have done in a while. The crowd and the intro needed a change as much as our team did after that loss at TN. So you all who are hating on it can continue your negative attitudes and settle for an NIT, the rest of us are at least trying to buy in and have a positive attitude, because the attitude in that arena tonight by the players the crowd and THE VIDEO is exactly what is going to get us to the tournament. Sorry for the rant but negative attitudes like some of these get you nowhere.

Our season is NOT over until our name is not revealed on a Selection Sunday. There are so many unknown variables that can take place from now til the judgement Sunday. I am watching AZ/WA game right now and I saw lady in her 60’s jumping up and down along with rest of the crowd to cheer on those West Coast Wildcats. I would love to see for ONCE Rupp Arena crowd stand for the entire 40 minutes to cheer on our Wildcats. If you think the officials do NOT at times blow whistle with the crowd then you are wrong, how many times do we get short changed with calls on the road when the home team’s crowd is rocking. Just something to think about– I will always support these Cats and I am not thinking about the NIT, we have a plenty of time to get things turned around.

In 20 years – Hood and the walk-ons are going to look back and see just what pawns Calipari saw them as. Cal has never valued them as part of the team other than props to be seen on TV so he wouldn’t be exposed for having such a shallow bench. (They might also be good boosts for the team’s GPA.)

Mr. Hood got one minute of court-time last night. Which is about the same as he got in several of the blow-out wins against Eastern Michigan and the likes back in December. Of course – that was much more than any of the walk-ons saw.

Again – the bench isn’t Cal’s friend – because he hasn’t been much of a friend or coach to the bench. Players first? Yeah – right.

That UK has to depend on such sappy, over-dramatic marketing as this pregame video to get up for cellar-dweller Vanderbilt is a pretty pathetic statement about where we are right now.

#24 In 20 yrs they will be showing their grandchildren the championship ring they received while sitting on that bench. If you found the video so pathetic stay home, you don’t see it on the tv.

dude the reason they don’t see much time in those blowout december wins is because our star freshman players are so young and need as much experience as possible in these games dumba$$
