In ESPN’s never-ending quest to subliminally make every decision carry the importance and emotional fire of the OJ Simpson verdict, they will air the Maui Invitational bracket announcement tomorrow at 1:30. Sadly, it will air on ESPNews, which means we’ll likely get WWE’s leftovers instead of Lowell Galindo’s short tie. But, it also means Kentucky fans will also get themselves a little bit of schedule pie tossed on their plate as the Cats will find a first round opponent of either Chaminade, Wichita State, UConn, Virginia, Michigan State, Oklahoma or…..wait for it….newly minted rival Washington.
Now, except for a few of you still seething over Virginia taking advantage of Marquis Estill’s 13 foul-filled minutes in 2002, I’d assume you’re hyped about a potential Washington matchup. But, then again, I’ve been wrong plenty of times, so let’s hear it. Who do you want? I’m just rooting for another chance to see Tom Izzo crush a bag of popcorn like he did this weekend in Orlando. He was a master of the “flatten and lick the palm until your hand is inverted so you get every kernel” move. Anyway, I guess we should just answer the question and wipe that vision from our minds.
