Kentucky At The Oscars

Jennifer Lawrence gives Kentucky a good name on the red carpet
Tonight, you may have heard over and over elsewhere, the Academy Awards feature Kentucky’s very own Jennifer Lawrence as a Best Actress nominee. Blogs and media covering the red carpet are already going wild over her stunning appearance in Hollywood. Her film, Winter’s Bone, as we’ve noted on this site, portrays a rural community with a low-income population, akin to some part of our state. The film is up for Best Picture and also has John Hawkes nominated for Best Supporting Actor. Natalie Portman is the certain favorite, but Lawrence has a chance to do Kentucky proud with an Oscar win. Coverage started at 8:30, so tune in and see what happens (if you’ve got nothing better to do, here are other nominees). Friend of the site, Terry Meiners wrote this blog post about Lawrence and Louisville earlier.
– In other news, Calipari says that no more opponents will be added to the UK’s tough schedule.

That’s all fine and dandy, but she’s wearing red, not blue.
She’s a UofL fan. Doesn’t mean I wouldn’t give her the business, but I can’t cheer for her.
I hope she loses. She should have worn blue. Go big blue!

These hot Kentucky actresses are starting to piss me off by not continuing “The Judd Plan” of doing your first few movies naked before getting the high end roles.
She looks great in Cardinal red!
I would make her leave that dress in the other room. From there, game on.
Mmmm. I’d hit that. Well, unless Erin Andrews was around. XOXO, Bruce
