Keep an eye on Tavise Stoudemire

It may be time to get to know a little bit about Tavise Stoudemire, a 2014 linebacker from Opp, Alabama. The 6′ 220 lb. Stoudemire is teammates with current UK commit Denzel Ware, and received an offer from D.J. Eliot and the Cats on February 14th. Stoudemire and Ware are actually cousins, and Stoudemire told Rivals’ Justin Rowland that he’s pretty much ready to pull the trigger and pledge his allegiance to the blue and white:

“I talked to coach (D.J.) Eliot the other day and he was fired up about me coming …I think I’m going to commit to Kentucky.”

Last night, Stoudemire tweeted that he’s close to making his decision, and his hashtag leaves very little to the imagination:

Stoudemire isn’t ranked by any of the major recruiting services, but is considered to be one of the more underrated players in his class, and apparently has received interest from Alabama.

Watch him work:

You know we’re going to be good when we start recruiting gang members. Same thing I said when Cal was hired and I looked at the team photo. I said look at all the arm sleeves, tattoos and linebeards and I knew we were back.

Don’t be so hard on 15. He’s just upset over the perceived slight that Calipari is recruiting the Jefferson County Detention Center better that Pitino is. But don’t worry 15 there’s only one Ankle Bracelet U. “L” yeah! Just as there is only one UK dynasty so at least you guys have that much to hang your line beards and chicken bucket hats on.

Serious question for anyone who watched this highlight…is the navy and gold team his team is playing about 1/4 through running a 2 quarterback offense?! Literally two guys every play standing their hands up waiting for the snap…it’s like a wing t with 2 qbs weirdest thing I’ve ever seen

Well Rivals and ESPN haven’t fully evaluated anybody other than the top 300 or so kids. My guess is he ends up a mid-to-high 3 star. Not sure how good he is in pass coverage but the guy can hit HARD and is an absolute beast against the run.

This guy is a beast. He has the physicallity and aggressive to be a big time player…and he has great vision. He takes on blockers from all angles, but never loses sight of the ball. That one trait is something our defense has not done for years.

I am a teacher at OHS, and currently teach Tavise, and have been his teacher for 3 different subjects. Tavise is far from a gang member or a thug. He has worked hard to get where he is and has made big goals for himself. I for one am very proud of all he has accomplished! He is smart enough to know at a young age to rise above the judgements made by people who dont know anything about him. And to clear up about Denzil Ware, he just recently transferred to Opp. So yes, his stats show Crestview, but he will be playing for Opp for the upcoming year. Remember, before you make judgements about someone, there are folks out there that care for and love that person. We are proud of Tavise!!!
