Keenan Burton is no stranger to making headlines with his play, and now he’s making them off the field as well. With support of ex-rival Michael Bush and others, Keenan Burton has created a scholarship program for those less fortunate who want to be able to attend college. The scholarship is set up in honor of his parents, and is appropriately named the Burton-Taylor College & Academic Scholarship. While the amount of money has yet to be decided, Burton has promised up to $1,500 a year, with Bush committing to match that, while an unknown amount of money will be given by outside contributors.
While there are no restrictions on where the scholarship is used, “Students planning to attend the University of Kentucky or St. Louis University are encouraged to apply.”
Eric Lindsey has a further write up over at the Cat Scratches blog.
And if you know anyone who would want to apply for the scholarship, check out the full details here. You have three days. Yes, I will write you a letter of recommendation. Just get on it.
