Kansas Asst. Apologizes To Nevada and Fazekas

Kansas assistant coach Joe Dooley apologized Friday for his actions after Thursday night’s loss to Nevada. As many of you know, Dooley shouted and cursed at Nevada F/C Nick Fazekas as the teams shook hands. Fazekas knocked the ball away from Kansas’ CJ Giles as time expired and Nevada won 72-70; However, the Kansas staff felt that Fazekas fouled Giles on the last play. There was no foul called.

Assistant coach Dooley claims he was responding to something that was said to him after the game by Fazekas. Fazekas denies any wrong doings and claims to only be enjoying the victory with his teammates.

Kansas head coach Bill Self made a statement saying “Dooley responded in an inappropriate manner to an exchange with a Nevada player”. Apology or no apology this is an absolute embarrassment to the Kansas program and Bill Self. I feel Dooley should be suspended or fired for his childish behavior.

How would Kentucky fans feel if this would have happened here at UK? What if Reggie Hanson or David Hobbes cursed a Michigan State player during the NCAA regional final last season because they were upset that a foul was not called when Sparks hit the buzzer beating 3 point shot to send the game to OT?
