University of Kentucky Basketball, Football, and Recruiting news brought to you in the most ridiculous manner possible.

Julius Randle on the Twins: “We would have a legit shot to win a national championship in our first year.”

Julius Randle just posted his latest blog on USA Today’s high school basketball blog. He broke down his visit to Florida, which included a trip to the football locker room and watching videos of Billy Donovan scuba diving with sharks. More importantly, he wants to clear the air on those rumors that he doesn’t like the Harrison Twins:

Oh, the other thing I want to clear up is the crazy rumor about there being some sort of beef between Andrew and Aaron Harrison and me. That is the craziest thing I’ve ever heard, honestly. I’ve tried to ignore it but everyone is making it a big thing. I can tell you, 100 percent, that all three of us are cool. I’ve got the utmost respect for those guys and their games and we’re actually cool with each other. Every time I see them, we talk and hang out so I don’t know where that came from.

I love that they’re at Kentucky too.

Potentially playing with two great guards would make it easier for me. I think that we would have a legit shot to win a national championship in our first year because I don’t see any guards in the country that would be better than them.

We can make that happen, Julius.

When will these top recruits quit phrasing their statements like they are staying more than 1 year? I would absolutely love it, but we all know Randle is one and done. If he comes to UK, maybe we can make it “won” and done. *rimshot*

Just maybe – With he and Lee and potentially a couple of 2012 players staying, it could go down in history as one of best if not the best college team in history.
    WOW!!!!

“I think that we would have a legit shot to win a national championship in our first year”…..would the placement of the word FIRST indicate there would be a second year?

I don’t believe any of it. He isn’t being truthful about his feelings about the Harrison twins. He doesn’t like them.

This is a great update! after the evan daniels tweet a few days ago, I thought Julius was backing away from UK….looks like we’re still one of the top teams on his list.

UK would be a raging beast if Julius joined this stellar 2013 class.

#6 – why would Randle even bring it up? it makes no sense whatsoever, if Julius isn’t planning to come here…he just wouldn’t say anything. no offense, but you should stick to the facts.

If he has a mature person helping guide him in his life they will tell him it would be stupid to ruin being part of the best college team ever just because of some stupid personal issues with two guys you barely even know.

The most important line in the statement is “I love they are at Kentucky.” Why would he say that if he wasn’t heavily leaning towards the Cayts?

I am totally serious about Julius, if he liked the Randle twins he would have said he is 110% that all three of them are cool. 100% just doesn’t get it done. We see right through you Julius! So much for him, bring on Kennedy Meeks and his giant head.

Like our chances with Julius….Fl has several returning PFs, and recruits and transfers, Chris Walker, Finney-Smith and dude from South Carolina ….all vying for playing time at the forward position???….Texas has…. well…Rick Barnes!

I think the overlooked comment by Julius speaks reams…”We”…have a legitimate shot at the title. Sounds like he’s mentally already a part of the UK recruiting class.

IMO the legitimate opportunity to win a National Championship on the greatest college basketball team ever assembled will be to much to turn down. This statement is based on Wiggins committing. I also know nothing is won on paper but the potential is very real.

Even without Wiggins, a class of

    Harrison Twins
    C Young
    J Randle
    Lee

and one or two of the other guys being connected to UK would still be a huge favorite to win it all.

Esp. if WCS and one or two of the other guys hangs around. Goodwin is thought to be a high 1st rounder by most which may be incentive for him to stay and improve his draft status.

Plus Wiltjer is a possible Junior stay.

That team could be loaded with GREAT talent and some GREAT leadership from some Sophs and Juniors.

I don’t understand why Jabari Parker is so adamant against going to UK.

His addition would make a NC damn near bulletproof for that team.

And he’ll still go Top 3 in the Draft.

Randle isn’t coming to UK. It will be either Texas or Florida. What does it benefit him to publicly admit that he doesn’t want to play with the Doublemint twins? He isn’t going to admit it publicly, it serves no purpose. He knows who the best guard in the country to play with to really make him shine is Kasey Hill. The Doublemint twins are divas and ballhogs. Go Gators!

If warmer climate and proximity to the beach is the priority, then I can understand choosing Florida. Or possibly he is tight with a gator player? But that’s it.

Anything else………………..it’s UK. Just depends on what it is that’s most important to him.

Pitino recruits better than Calicheater. It’s a good thing Siva graduates this year because if he were around next season he would still be better than both of the twins.
