Julius Randle’s latest USA Today blog entry is up, and it’s all about joining the Big Blue Nation.
Randle said that after he committed, his Twitter follower count jumped by 11,000 and he received congratulations from his fellow UK incoming freshmen, coaches, and rapper Wale, who told him he would be in the stands for Randle’s first game as a Cat.
Randle also addressed Kentucky’s loss to Robert Morris, which he said he heard about while eating dinner at Benihana the night before his commitment. He pledges that next year will be different:
Next year we’ll come in and do what we need to do.
Now I know that people said the same thing coming into this year, but I think the difference is the situation. We’ll have a chip on our shoulders after this season. Those guys this year had the bull’s-eye and we won’t look at ourselves like that. We’ll feel like we’ve got a lot to prove even if everyone’s saying we’re great and all that.
We’ve got a lot of guys that can really simplify each other’s roles. This is a special group of guys who just have that mentality that you can’t teach. We will get Kentucky back to where it’s supposed to be.
If you like that, you’ll love the rest of Randle’s blog. Go read it right now.
