For a while, it looked like Kentucky was going to coast to an easy victory in Josh Harrellson’s final home game. But as they’ve done far too frequently this year, they let their opponent come back and take the lead. Instead of wilting, though, Kentucky looked the part of a veteran team in the game’s final minute and a half, making their free throws and putting together defensive stops. Terrence Jones gave the Commodores one final shot with 1.1 seconds remaining after committing what might be the worst turnover in the history of the program, but Vandy’s opportunity to tie failed as Festus Ezeli lost the ball as he went up against Josh Harrellson. It was a fitting end to a day of Jorts mania. And, more importantly, it’s the start of a push to the postseason. A good win for the Cats.
