Joker on Teddy Bridgewater

We’re 124 hours from the opening kickoff in Papa John’s Stadium against No. 25 Louisville and you can feel the confidence around UK. Joker and his boys are relaxed and ready for the upset, but they also know it won’t be an easy feat with Teddy Bridgewater under center for the Cards. Joker had this to say about the sophomore quarterback at yesterday’s press conference:

—————-

He’s a guy that played really well for them in the second half (against) us, made some huge throws.  Came out of high school, people were wondering if he could throw the ball well enough to be a big‑time quarterback.  Well, he can.  He threw for 2100 yards last year, didn’t really get into the game until our game, which was the third game last year.

He also is a guy that can pull it down and make plays with his feet.  He’s been a guy that you don’t ever see people getting pressure on him because of him not understanding protections or changing protections.  He understands that also.

He’s been a really good quarterback for them.  He’s one of the top quarterbacks for them, not just in their league, but one of the top quarterbacks in the country.

—————-

In the words of Avery Williamson: ”Ooo, I’d love to hit Teddy.”

Go Cats.

Haha, yeah Teddy came in at a whopping 67th in passing yards last year. Those are all-star numbers there.

You must have missed what Joker said – he didnt play until the UK game. In other words, had he played the full season, he would have ranked right next to the National Champion QB AJ McCarron. Oh, and he was a TRUE FRESHMAN. Pretty sure he’s going to improve a little dont cha think. He’ll average somewhere around 250yds/gm this season.
