Ah Coach…you have had over 30 games to make us better and it hasn’t worked yet. Your team actually regressed as the season progressed. NIT…one and out.

Mike, you are a complete Loser. I am sure you are a failure at your job if you even have one. You apparently have been on this board all day with your b.s. In that time you could have gone to church, read a book, taken up a hobby. Instead you continue to post here. Why? You are a total coward. Get lost.

Agree with #’s 1 and 2. Team should be labeled the “uncoachables”. Let em go and get some kids with heart. And by the way – NO ESPN ALL ACCESS next year. Shut the door and coach your team…!

You pulled this program out of the grave. But nothing You’ve said has matched up with what went on on the court this year. You said we had two wonderful practices before the vandy game. Looked like to me the first game of the season. A flat out horrible performance. The team looked like they had never seen a zone before. And the defense has been terrible all year long. You done a terrible job with this team.

I am actually glad this season was over. This team had no heart, will, desire or anything approaching a Team concept. It was one sad, roller-coaster of a year. What makes it worse was where we were last year and who is favored to win it all this year!!! I am pulling for Gonzaga and Miami–pray that one of there two teams win it all!

Seriously, how boring is your life that you go to the blogs for other teams and try to rile them up? If you’re going to do it, pick a team that didn’t win the title last year and isn’t going to have one of the best teams in the nation next year.

As for the UK fans who are still attacking Cal, you don’t deserve to be fans of a Championship winning team. We could have been this bad in his 2nd year. It’s what comes of his feast or famine elite recruiting. I’ll take it, personally.

Cal: We are sick of hearing your BS. At a minimum, you must make the NCAA tournament every year. Even “10 Loss Tubby” was able to do that during his 10 seasons. You badly misjudged Ryan Harrow and Alex Poythress and missed on too many recruits the past two seasons. Your honeymoon is over sir!

yeah its not Cal’s fault we just had a bunch of duds this year with no heart. All season long he would bring them out of a game to try and coach up there mistakes and they would just shrug it off and roll there eyes as if they already knew more than him ya know so….fucc this sorry team! its not coach cals fault don’t start the coach bashing B.S Personally i was hoping cal wouldn’t accept invitation to NIT and just call the season done and look forward to next year. The way these guys played this year they dont even deserve to wear a UK uni for another game this year..

#22: Who recruited the dud players on the team? Yes, Calipari recruited and signed them. The blame is 100% on Cal. He should have at least signed 2-3 more guys to fill out the bench and push for time in the rotation.

I absolutely enjoy having calipariI as coach at uk. My only thing with him is he only make adjustments with his offense. On defense he only plays man to man. He never plays zone and with this team (aka Kyle Wiltjer) needed to be on floor more. He will right the ship as I think he is embarrassed by not making the tournament.

Some of the dumb-asses commenting on here have totally forgotten that this team lost their best player in February. Yes, they pretty much sucked it up against Vandy, but that team was on fire from outside. Still, no excuse for the kind of defense that this team played all year. They completely sucked at staying between their man and the basket.

I am going to be interested to see what Cal learns from this experience and what adjustments he makes. Is he going to work on mixing in some zone defense? That would be a good way to throw some different looks at opponents, and it would also help us to practice against one for when we face zone-oriented teams. Is he going to go deeper into his bench for his rotation? That would have helped – he could use the threat of bench time to get players to fall into line, and it would be a good backup for injuries or foul trouble. Is he going to try to mix in some 3 and 4 year recruits with the 1-and-doner’s? It looks like he might already be trying to do this with some of the recruits he is looking at.

Keep your heads up, BBN. Yes, this sucks, and it has been a bizarre season, but better times are ahead. Yes, we will be young again, but I really think the kids coming in are going to resemble the 2012 recruits much more than they will the 2013 team. Also, don’t be surprised if a few of the kids from last year hang around another year. As bad as they were, most of them were still freshmen, and there is still a lot of potential there. I think next year’s team is going to make us forget about this bunch in a hurry.

Time to call bullshit on Cal’s one-and-done system. Year 1 team came up short without what would have been Jodie Meeks’ senior season (blame BCG). Year 2 team went further with a senior (JH) and junior (DM). Year 3 won it all with a senior (DM) and two starting sophs (TJ and DL). Year 4 was a trainwreck with a mid-major transfer senior (JM) and two sophs, a weak redshirt transfer (RH) and a sub (KW). There is ZERO impact talent likely to return, thus next year will rely fully on one-and-done freshmen – maybe better than this year’s crop, but still freshmen. We are approaching a time there will be no senior day at UK. Honeymoon is over, Cal.

==== Coach ……… you don’t look well to me …… OL’ PIX thinks you’re
tryin’ to pull the wool over our eyes ……

You need a sartorial renewal as well as you need a new team to try to indoctrinate …… the dribble drive died this year and now by accepting an invitation to the NOT INVITED TOURNEY you have set us up for the MOST humiliating season in quite some time ……… we can’t win on the road !!! We’ve proved that !

Now, with a couple of PRIME recruits still undecided …. you sir are gonna help them right out the door ….. what excuse will you have for BBN when Harrow gets bumped into the fifth row of this cracker box gym, or when Poythress comes on court in a dress, afterall …. he’s been the “beast with the least” …. What excuse will you feed us for Willhe Frank-N-Stein’s backboard, rim clanking free throws when we need ’em ?
What your excuse when Archie can’t hit the broadside of a tobacco barn from 19′, or runs over 6 cheerleaders on a drive to the basket ?

God I hope all these jerks (cancers) are gone next year ……..

Coach …. can you tell me ONE solid positive thing that can become beneficial from participating in this CLOWN CLASSIC ?

I DON’T THINK YOU CAN ……….. The only thing that can help this bunch of chuckleheads is SURGERY !

    Just my .02 sports fans

  30. Show some respect
    1:34 am March 18, 2013 Permalink

Cracker– you’re an idiot. Cal’s past 3 successful years have earned him at least 5 years of sub-par from me. I’d take his recruiting, marketing prowess, game style, and one & dones repeatedly over 10 loss Tubby seasons. Does he need to mx it up a bit with veterans and one & dones? Yes, he does but he’s never going to stop recruiting & bringing in the top ranked athletes– and why should he?? So far, he’s managed to get it right 75% of the time…. While this year’s team definitely lacked spunk and intensity, they are freshmen. There is not another school in the nation who started (& mostly played) 4 freshman all season and still managed to be an NCAA bubble team with 20+ wins and a 2nd seed in their conference. These recruits performed above average for “typical” freshman and IF they stick around, their games will exponentially improve over the next few months. Give them time to develop instead of comparing them to the anomalies like we had last year. It won’t hurt to temper your expectations for next year’s beastly class, too.
Finally, I’m dumbfounded by the lack of respect some of y’all show these kids. I’m sure you all (especially those went to college) got up at 5 AM to lift weights, condition, and have an hour long practice session before your first class, in addition to preparing for exams, completing homework, meetings with media, traveling to/from other states weekly for games, going to class and oh, having a social life. I skipped class and didn’t really have any excuses like athletes could…. GET OFF THEIR BACKS!!! They work their asses off, even if it didn’t show as much as we’d all prefer. Moreover, I’m sure most of y’all know what it feels like to carry the pressure of UK basketball squarely on your shoulders and how great it must feel to be bashed repeatedly by a bunch of spoiled rotten twot guys & gals who bad mouth you on social network sites….

30, cry me a river. These guys have a free ride and are treated like royalty. Is it too much to expect them to play with a little heart and pride? And if they’re working their asses off, they must’ve left it all on the practice floor because we sure didn’t see much on the game floor.

You need to get off your high-horse and stop preaching to the true fans.

I agree with #1. We will be embarrassed after loosing the first game. Cal has had 30 games to make this team better but didn’t. The real coach Cal has showed up this year. Couldn’t get control of the team, and had no answers. Anyone can coach excellant players like last year. These players will be a influence on next years players. The can cry after a lose but that’s when you suck it up and change what you’re doing wrong. Talk is cheap and that’s what the team and Cal did all year.

Lets go win this tournament. We HAVE THE BEST TEAM AND THE BEST COACH THEY JUST NEED TO BELIEVE. I relish a rematch with Baylor at Rupp and I know we can win. I hope UK keeps their heads up and treats this as a learning experience, and I have complete confidence we’ll be back next year to compete for a 9th national championship. Go Cats!

  34. Really?
    3:56 pm March 18, 2013 Permalink

I believe Cal has done a darn good job…except for some pretty big miscalculations this year. I am sure he figured someone (Harrow) would step up and lead the team. Wow! No chance there although one kept hoping. As, many have said here, he also thought this crew would work harder and be Cats instead of kittens. Hard to teach by using the bench when you have no bench. Cal can do the job. The past 3 years have proven that. But, it would be nice to see hard working young men instead of timid boys.
