John Calipari reflects on the one-year anniversary of the National Championship

CalTrophy

A year ago today, Kentucky cut down the nets in New Orleans and celebrated the school’s eighth National Championship. We’ve spent the morning reliving the memories, but now it’s Cal’s turn. Cal posted the following message on Twitter this morning:

We have so many things to be thankful for. For me personally, this year was a learning, growing, humbling experience but I am still so grateful for all the good things that happened to our program, our state, our university, and to me and my family. When you think about it, it was one year ago today that we were cutting down the nets. It’s still hard for me to believe that I’m the head coach at the University of Kentucky.

The first anniversary is paper, right? A letter of intent from Andrew Wiggins would be a great, albeit belated, present.

#7 – it looks like he is touching Cal’s hair. I don’t understand what makes that so difficult to see.

This business of winning championships requires a lot of hard work along with a lot of talent and not everybody is willing to put forth that effort or curb their ego.

Let’s hope we have all been appropriately humbled by this year’s results and have learned that getting these all stars to just show up is only half the battle. I have confidence that coach Cal can benefit from this experience to retain enough talent to ease the new guys into what is the largest fishbowl in college basketball.

#12,Why don’t you go and lie down in your corner. Your probably not a Cat fan and just want to come on here and bash a young kid. Bottom line is he’s just a kid. True Cat fans don’t come on here and bash young kids, of course a MORON probably would so let’s just put you in that group, MORON!!!!

We are so fortunate to have Cal not only as a coach but someone who takes such a great interest in the community and helping others. He anD his his players have made Kentucky proud, and they have been great role models for the kids. Lest cut down the nets next year UK.
