John Calipari Makes SI’s List of 100 Must-Follows on Twitter

The key to having a successful Twitter account? Yell and point.

So we already did the math and figured out that Coach Cal has more Twitter followers than 190 other D1 coaches combined, but Sports Illustrated has taken it a step further and said that John Calipari is one of 100 “Must Follows” on Twitter for keeping up with relevant sports information.

He’s the only college basketball coach on the list, and joins the likes of Amanda McCarthy, Rachel Nichols, and Michelle Beadle.  Obviously, it’s good company.

SI had this to say:

It should come as little surprise that it’s the Wildcats’ fearless leader who reigns supreme among hoops coaches in the Twitter arena. With more than a million followers, Calipari has used the platform to rally Wildcats faithful (often via hashtag #BBN), give updates on his program and show off his famous friends (among them Drake and rapper-turned-sports-agent Jay-Z).

Of course, the highest honor (according to Jay Bilas) is being listed alongside… Jay Bilas.

The NCAA restricts what Cal can say about everything
of interest about the team, players and recruits.
I follow him, but he can’t say much.
    Twitter is silly.
    When will this fad end?
