John Calipari Keeps Proving He ‘Gets It’

John Calipari may be taking in some high school basketball tonight. He’s not recruiting any of the players on either team, but when he steps into Duquesne University’s Palumbo Center to catch the Western Pennsylvania Interscholastic Athletic League Class A championship game between Lincoln Park and Cornell he’ll be displaying the quality that draws recruits from all over the country to him. Loyalty. Mike White of the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette says the rumor is that Calipari will be at the game tonight to show some love for his former coach, Bill Sacco, Cornell’s head coach.

White had this to say of Coach Cal:

It would not surprise me at all if Calipari showed up. That’s the way he is. He is extremely loyal and giving to his former coaches. When Calipari played at Clarion University, his coach was Joe DeGregorio. Calipari has flown DeGregorio and his wife to Final Fours in the past. It would be great if Calipari showed up tonight.

For all the talk around the nation about how Calipari is such a scumbag, he at least seems to be the nicest scumbag. Look at the high character of this team. Sure, these guys are naturally good hearted, but they’ve been influenced some by their coach as well. I think these displays of loyalty are great not only for Calipari’s image, but also the image of the school and team that he represents. Good on you, coach.

Nice job, Hays. Genuine great news about a great guy. If only the national media, or local, would put something like this out. I also like the use of comic sans, says your serious, in a Dan Gilbert sort of way.

I don’t know what Cal done at the other places he’s been, but while he’s been here he’s done nothing but promote not only our program but the whole state with class and respect.I haven’t seen any thing to deserve all the bad publicity thrown his way

This does not bode well for Kentucky. He should be prepping for the Florida game. Potential recruits should see this as a coach who abandons his team before a big road contest. Then again, he’s more Recruiter Cal than Coach Cal.

Cal, wait, that cant’t be the cesspool keeper of all dirty things that are wrong with the world today. Un,un that doesn’t fit the image of back door, money changing hands, brokerage of all the talented kids in the country.

Simple question to ask the haters: if cal’s kids are all paid for, why does he spend so much time and energy on the road?

A scumbag? I don’t think so!!! I was eating at Fazoli’s on campus. Cal was at a nearby table on his phone. A car broke down in the roadway out front. He excused himself from the call, and went outside to help push the car into the lot. The man will have his team prepared and do the other things in life WITH class. I’ll take that kind of “scumbag” any day.

i go to school there. Neither of those teams are very good and there isn’t a player around that could play at Kentucky.

Loyalty is attending mass every day.
Loyalty is doing what’s right for your players, staff, former and present.

    ‘Scumbags’ are not loyal.

Scumbags call Loyal Humans ‘scumbags’ because they have an inferiority complex.

    Haters will continue the continue.

Keep being Loyal; Life will be large.

Didn’t have time to finish first post. Grandchildren were trying to hide their cat in the refridgerator. The dogs were giving torment to the cat and the kids figured it would stay safe, not get hot and have something to eat in the fridge.
I wanted to illustrate that Coach Cal is always doing someing like this.
His entire life is wide open. No mysterious sightings at places not normally visited without special need. Even with this amount of visability
and every hack hater trying to dig up something, real or invented. No
wrong doing is found. Haters continue to insist on making slanderous statements regardless of validity or consistant. I read today Coach has two separate “recruiting violations” point blank for real. Seems that repested enough, delusion makes it true. Just like WWWess being the body broker for Coach. ESPN established a year or ago WWWes has relations with almost every major school in the Nation to include the ones that are thought of as completely clean

The SEC has 12 teams all in the South
If North Carolina wante in the SEC it would
make sense since it is a southern college, but.
    Missouri? No way
That makes no more sense than U Conn
    or any other northern team
Am i the only person who considers this insane?
    please advise
