John Calipari has a clothing line now

BQWFp4tCcAEweogBQWE-99CMAQ_SGk

Have you ever sat down and wondered why John Calipari doesn’t have his own line of clothing? Well, this is your day. Cal announced the launch of the “Refuse to Lose Signature Series” clothing line this morning, designed for “athletes, businessmen, and -women, and fans everywhere.” Cal says the clothes are geared towards “comfort and breathability under high-performance use,” and will be available at Lexington area Wal-Marts, Krogers, the UK Bookstore, Kennedy Book Store and Rupp Arena, as well as online at st-brands.com. Part of the proceeds from every sale will go to the John Calipari Foundation.

Here’s the logo:

See more of the collection here. Fortunately, Cal seems to have had some help designing the line. Here are some rejects from the collection:

However, you can tell the line is inspired by Cal’s favorite, ever-present blue pullover:

Coach, author, speaker, Orange Leaf shiller, and now clothing designer. The Kardashians have nothing on Cal. What’s next? Coach Cal perfume? Eau du Championship?

This clothing line has been sold at the Shell off Richmond Rd. for the last year, and a few other places too, though I only remembered the Shell because I lived right nearby. It was always 100% cotton t-shirts though, not the high-performance stuff.

From a marketing standpoint, the logo is a bit busy. But I guess if your aiming at the Lexington market, Cal’s name sells. I don’t personally like the high-performance type wear, but it’s popularity is undeniable. I wish him luck.

Those would go over well here in Memphis. I would need them to come with a baseball bat. Nice looking shirts though.

I don’t see the beer gut built into this clothing line.

If there’s anything Cayut fans will buy in droves, it’s UK tshirts.
