AP article claims Sosa led UL to a victory over Kentucky in 2010. Funny, I remember 2010 quite differently. UL/UK played twice in the 2010 calendar year, and twice got their asses handed to them. I realize the author is referring to 2009 which was, and forever will be, the last time the wildcats drop one to the dirty birds.

Those times were not one of Coach Hall’s finer moments. It was very obvious back then as a UK fan/student, that Hall did not want to play UL for whatever reason. Maybe Hall was to consumed with telling Shidler what color and length his hair should be. UK’s style of ball vs UL was vastly different. Y’all remember Hall’s style of play? When facing tuff competition….stall, stall and stall. Those games where before a shot clock was implemented and made for the most boring games ever played by UK.

Stall, stall and stall? Really?? Interesting… I don’t remember it that way. And as for UK not playing UL — obviously UofL had everything to gain from playing UK and nothing to lose. UK never played state schools for many years, not just UofL. Only when UofL became competitive nationally (late 70’s/early 80’s) did they want to play UK. Luckily, the NCAA tourney brought the two teams together and now it’s become one of the best rivalries.

Loved that old Wildcat head, I remember it as a kid and am glad they are bringing it back.
