Jerrell Priester Set To Transfer

priester

And another mid level contributor has decided to transfer from the Kentucky football program, per Joker earlier today.  Jerrell Priester played mostly in special teams last year, though he is primarily a DB/CB and got some play at those positions. Priester was expected to play more this year after a solid true Freshman season, but due to untold circumstances has decided to transfer instead.  No news as to why he is seeking a transfer has yet to come out but with a new defensive coordinator, a strong freshman class and Joker building a solid recruiting class, Priester may have just decided he would rather go somewhere with less competition at his position.

Or maybe he never wanted to play at a place with such huge new video boards.

Either way, we wish him the best of luck wherever he ends up.

Mid level? Ummmmmm what? He ONLY played in special teams last season. The only games he got in at CB were pretty much the cupacke OOC games. I remember he came into the WKU game and immediately got thrown at, and let a 40 some odd yard youchdown on one of his first plays.

Fast, talented player, but nowhere near tall/strong to be a SEC db. Oh well.

7 tackles in BW game. Joker raved about the kid’s potential. Brown acted like the kid would be on the field this year. The kid reportedly had blazing speed.

C’mon down, Jerrell. We’ll set you up at Tony Montana’s place.

If I had to guess, he probably wants to transfer to a school where he will get to play on offense. He was a good receiver prospect but we needed him more on defense.

That’s a shame. Hate to see it. Just as long as does not end up on Belknap campus.

He was running third team and couldn’t see getting a shot at starting. Kid is a lightning bolt but tiny and has band hands so he coudn’t return kicks either. Just a shame, but not everyone can start.

Hate to see him go, but just as with Huzzie, he fell back in the depth chart and shows we have better depth/talent with the younger and other guys.

I would like to think that this is a sign of better recruiting. I thought Joker was high on this kid.

I dont think these guys are ready for a really tough coach and Minter has a rep. of bull rushing guys into being tough on the field.
