Rumor Watch: Jay-Z’s first NBA client could be Nerlens Noel

I don’t know if you’ve heard the news, but Jay-Z is looking to potentially get into the business of being an official NBA agent. The rumor around the concrete jungle where dreams are made of is that Nerlens Noel could be Jay-Z’s first NBA client. All of this is assuming of course that Nerlens Noel declares for the NBA draft, which he has not done yet. Just keep one ear out of the Dre Beats and to the ground for the rumor to develop.

I loved the crowd, was a little underwhelmed at the play during the scrimmage.. I know it’s April, but we have a LONG way to go, but I’m on board and optimistic

3} This entire program has a long way to go thanks to the joke we had here. This staff has already made HUGE gains for our program. If we can keep this staff together we will matter nationwide in football within 3-5 years.

Jay-Z should be viewed as a threat to the UK program…Mitch and Cal better make damn sure he’s kept away from campus, locker rooms at away/neutral games, and any other functions. His past affiliations with the program + popularity among young ballers = bad juju for UK.

    # 8, hey glass half empty, take your threats and shove them. I think it is AWESOME that Cal is friends with Jay-Z!!! No other coach in college basketball has half the swag factor of Cal. Let Cal be friends with whomever he chooses. #9 awaits…

@ 9… If you really think it’s “AWESOME” that Cal/UK is friends with an NBA AGENT, you are even dumber than the dumbest IU fan. Yes, it was “cool”, when he was just a media mogul and rap superstar…but you’d have to literally be retarded to not know how that changes when he becomes a sports agent.

9- yeah it is awesome but I agree they are going to have to be very careful as far as him being affiated with the university if he is going to be an agent… Remember Cals vacated UMASS season was because camby talked with an agent, basically if he’s gonna be an agent I don’t see how they can let him be around anymore no way it’s worth the risk

This is not doing it the right way. This is part of the cutting corners I was referring to. I’m glad we won without having people like him and Drake (who sucks) involved with our program. Wonder if Jay-Z will get to keep his ring?

There’s no way Noel could ink with Jay due to the fact that he’s a minority owner of the Brooklyn Nets. Unless he sells his stake of the team, Jay-z cannot be anyone’s agent in the NBA. BTW 8. I could not disagree with you more. You obviously have no earthly idea how successful Mr. Shawn Carter actually is in his daily business associations.

2- you make a good point but jay-z is a far cry from master p…he has already proven to be successful as an executive through his record label, sports bar chain, and share of the nets.

    13- you’re an idiot.

14- you are correct but jay-z has already said he will relinquish his share of the nets in order to be able to pursue this.

some of you people make it sound like jay-z is constantly around the program or involved with it…he went to the locker room after the tourney game cause it was in new jersey and they were the winners. then he went to the game in brooklyn because….it was in brooklyn. that’s the extent of his involvement. now if drake were to become a sports agent, that’d be a problem

I hope Jay Z becomes the agent for chane Behannan and Russ smith this year. I am a tru blue fan but if those two come back to Louisville, then I think Louisville will repeat as champions.

Jay Z has been successful at virtually every business venture he has done. He passed the test plus he was a part owner (1%) of the nets. There is no reason to think he would be able to be a good agent

@ Blue15…You obviously have no earthly idea how much of an ass it makes of you, making that statement. If you had the intellect to understand what I posted, you’d know that I know very damn well what Jay-Z has done. He will no doubt be a successful agent, as with everything else he’s ever done. But he’ll be no less ruthless and cutthroat than any other pro agent, and certainly won’t think twice about putting some toes over the boundaries of NCAA regs to gain an advantage with a prospective client.
