Jared Carter goes global again…

This is great news. It appears that exactly one summer after he spent a few weeks traveling Africa, I might still have a chance at my “Jared Carter just wasn’t used properly” prediction being true. The former UK big man will be suiting up for Team Dublin in the eight-team EuroBasket Summer League in Las Vegas starting tomorrow. The league, which runs prior to the NBA summer camp, will be held as a part of the first ever Global Basketball Expo, which was organized to help unify the basketball leagues across the globe a bit. The GBE will include seminars and guest speakers and has a number of issues on the agenda, including the NCAA rights of foreign players.
But, let’s be very clear about this. The big news is that our favorite seven-foot buddy will be playing for a team from Ireland. Some potato jokes write themselves.
