James Young’s coach describes him as a “perfect” teammate
James Young’s coach John Pleasant was on WLAP this morning to talk to Larry Vaught about his player. A few worry warts have wondered how so many talented players can combine to be happy and functional on one roster next season at Kentucky. According to Pleasant, that shouldn’t be a problem with Young.
“He’ll be the perfect teammate. He can play 20 minutes and score 6 points and be happy. He just wants to win.”
Allen Feldhaus was also on the same broadcast this morning to talk about Dominique Hawkins, who is still in the mix for an offer from Kentucky. Feldhaus was on KSR earlier this week talking about Hawkins’ desire to play for Kentucky. When asked if Hawkins would choose Kentucky if the offer was extended, Feldhaus spoke very confidently that he would accept. Feldhaus reiterated this morning though that, “He is not a walk-on player, and I will leave it at that.”
The news of Ryan Harrow’s transfer from this morning has to be considered a positive move for Dominique Hawkins’ potential future as a Wildcat.

2) Shut up. Young is a phenomenal player. And if you’re referencing Wiggins, Young already said he would love that competition in practice everyday.
James young is definitely the least talked about top 10 player we have coming in, but he is a beast. I guess fans haven’t been as psyched about him cause they are holding out for wiggins but young is hardly going to be a role player. He will get major minutes next year, great shot

That is the kind of players we had when we won it all last year. Team first, win first players. Young will be a big part of our team next year. I know the Harrison twins and Randle have gotten most of the press but I love the rest of our class also. People will be surprised how good the others are. Other than Willis, I say the rest of the recruits are all better than this years recruits,except maybe Noel and I’d say some of them will be even better than Noel.
2, that is a good one (as in joke)! James Young is the reason why we don’t need Wiggins in order to have a historic year. Cal is right, a commitment from Wiggins will only mean a higher level of dominance. Imagine Randle with his ability to score down low, being fed by Andrew Harrison with Young & Aaron Harrison on the wings and Johnson/Lee free to rebound/clean-up. That offensive set will be lethal….and 6 is right, even some of the NBA scouts say that Young is perhaps the best pure scorer.

Don’t back down 23 your just telling the truth! Don’t know why so many want to act like Hawkins is the second comeing. They bitch that we don’t have enough 4 year kentucky players, then want to pull their rides (Polson and Hood) to get anther bench player. Just for the record Hawkins IS NOT better then Polson out of high school. Plus Polson and Hood at least have the height to play major D1 ball. Hawkins will look like a midget who is too slow great combination!
Hhmmm…Marcus Lee was my odds on leader for my favorite player on next year’s team but James is climbing up the boards. This is going to be one special season. (On a somewhat side-note: Hopefully CoachCal has learned his lesson on the importance of using all the scholarships and senior leadership.)
