Jabari Parker Also Gets Some Attention

During his day in Las Vegas as the adidas 64 event, Coach Cal also checked out Chicago forward Jabari Parker, rated in the #1 (Scout), #2 (ESPN) and #4 (Rivals) player in the class of 2013. The 6’8″ small forward can do a little bit of everything offensively and showed off today in front of Calipari, as well as coaches from Duke, UNC and Kansas.

Why? Because he’s good.

The kid can really pull up and shoot off the dribble/quick and athletic and at 6’8 that is very hard to defend. That would be a really nice pickup

I think we’ve found the next Paul Pierce.

I think this video shows off his athletic ability a little better.

Parker may turn out to be one that Cal can’t get. His father played with Lorenzo Romar in the NBA, and his brother is on Washington’s staff.

But … the most famous recent alum from his HS is none other than Derrick Rose.

I dunno… he seems to have the same little sidestep a lot. Defenses will read that ala Terrence Jones’ “I’m goin’ this way!”

Nice to see a video made up of more than dunks. If he gets to carry the ball like that in college, he’ll be tough. Well… he’ll be tough anyway. Does sound like a really hard get with his brother being on staff at Washington, Dad playing with Romar. If we get this one, nobody is safe form the Big Cal Blue.

Reminds me of a more athletic Antonio Walker. I like the pull-up and the step back move. Now if and when he comes to UK he will drive more and finish or get to the line. Cal will make sure he has total package when it’s time to go Pro.
