This picture really doesnt have anything to do with the story but is of the new dance team at UK, so you cant complain
As we head towards the end of the Summer of 2009, the recruiting battles are starting to take shape. The biggest on the horizon is the dual point guard battle taking place between Kentucky and UCONN. The Cats and Huskies both have their eyes on 2 of the 4 best point guards in America, Brandon Knight and Josh Selby. Both young men are considering UK and UCONN and both have those two schools in their top four. Kentucky would likely want both (it isnt clear if UCONN would want both), and both guys will find their way to Lexington and Storrs in the coming weeks (Selby heads to UCONN on Wednesday).
With Kentucky likely to become Point Guard U over the next few years, the story of the Cats pursuing the top point guards will be common. But the question I wonder is, why go to UCONN? It is really cold, Calhoun is really cranky and there seems to be no logical reason that it would be a better destination than Lexington. Now of course there could be other factors (the main one of which I will just leave alone), but in general, I like to evaluate the Cats’ chances by the teams they are against. If it is Calipari vs Calhoun for either of these guys or point guards in the future….well I like Kentucky’s chances.
