It’s Official: Bobby Knight to Call Two UK Games

knight

On Thursday I told you that I was hearing that Bobby Knight would be assigned to call SEC games this year for ESPN. And tonight, ESPN now reports it is official. Knight will do SEC games, including two UK road games this season, although he will not come to Rupp Arena. I can’t imagine how ESPN thinks it is a good idea to have an announcer as biased as Knight towards Kentucky, to call games involving the Cats. But alas, they do…and unless UK fans change their mind with protest, Knight will be on two telecasts this year.

im just lookin for him to call it both ways when hes announcing, if were dominating, then recognize it, thats all. but if its a year like 2 years ago and were losing road games you cant blame him for pointing out the obvious and criticizing, as long as its a reasonable thing

Someone please answer re:last nights game. On a fishing trip with limited access. QUESTION: Did the officials call the game of their own accord or were they asked too by Mitch/ Joker. It was unclear last night. Thanks.

Doesn’t ESPN remember last season when Dipstick Knight did his top 5 teams the last week before the tournament and did not even mention UK. The entire country had UK number 1 in every poll and article. Knight has zero credibility, hell he shot a guy one time while poaching and was fired for assaulting a student. Does ESPN not do criminal background checks when they hire people?

*****EVERYONE SHOULD REALIZE, ESPN HAS BIAS TOWARD KENTUCKY. ESPN LOVES DUKE, CAROLINA, ACC IN GENERAL. BY STIRRING UP THE BIG BLUE NATION, THEY IMPROVE RATINGS. IT’S SMART, AND A LITTLE INSIDE JOKE THEY GET A KICK OUT OF…I DON’T MIND, IT GIVES US AND THEM SOMETHING TO TALK ABOUT. IF ALL THEY DID WAS KISS OUR BUTT, IT WOULD BE BORING…..BRING ON BOB, IT WILL HAVE TO BE MORE AWKWARD FOR HIM THAN US. WE CAN ALWAYS WATCH THE TELECAST AND TURN ON THE RADIO!!

Well, I don’t see what could possibly go wrong when a hypocritical, lying analyst who won’t use the name of the best team in basketball is assigned to call their games. How will it look when the analyst says things like, “Well, Florida really played well there, but the cheating team that doesn’t go to class somehow must have bribed the officials to keep the ball out of the hoop. This game we’re watching is what’s wrong with basketball.” Then he’ll go on to talk about the integrity of Coach K’s program and how their players go to class, completely ignoring the back to back one-and-dones Coach K had or the intentional ignorance of the diamonds. He may also compare us to UNC for another example of a program that does things the right way. And only our program has one-and-dones, obviously.

This can only make ESPN even more clearly the leader in accurate and excellent sports reporting! I’m so excited!

For any of you who believe Bob Knight WON’T put his foot in his mouth, I have some property to sell you. The fact is, he doesn’t care what he says about UK, ESPN will do absolutely NOTHING to admonish him, and this old fool will get away with his non-stop diatribe of hate towards UK. If ESPN or Knight had any balls, then they’d send his sorry ass to Rupp Arena to announce a game.

#4- Where have you been? Knight has not been a friend of Joe Hall since Dec 1974.He refused to shake hands after Hall beat his previously undefeated team in the regional final in Dayton in 75, causing Cawood used the D-word on the air.

Why in the world would ESPN do this other than to stir up trouble? I’m sure ESPN will highlight the matchup of team and announcer all week/weekend. BBN needs to find a different way to watch it other than ESPN. Any thoughts?
