Of all the potential rivals for the Cats in the coming years, I must admit that I never assumed that the Washington Huskies would be one of the strongest. But then Kentucky ended up with two former Washington commitments in Enes Kanter and Terrence Jones and like the kids say, its on. The latest example comes from this SI.com article about Isaiah Thomas, the quick PG for the Huskies, who was also one of the first guests ever on a KSR podcast. Thomas says that he was shocked when Terrence Jones didnt come to Washington and goes into detail about Terrence’s visit to the UW campus the night before he made his second and final choice. He said Jones played pickup and hung with the guys and thus when he picked the Cats, all were surprised. Then Jones goes on to talk about a potential UK-UW matchup in the Maui Invitational and notes, “if we play them, I’ll be talking mess the whole game.”
Interesting words and a statement that could pump up the UK players…of course it wont likely matter, as Thomas is so short that if he “talks mess”, chances are the UK players wont be near enough to the floor to be able to hear what he says. Still UK-UW has a chance to be heated…however any time there is a battle, remember the old saying…go with the side that has the biggest Enes. Cats will roll….
