The big news out of Lexington right now is the report that President Lee Todd said after today’s Board of Trustees meeting that Billy Gillispie’s job will be evaluated at the end of the year – as every coach’s is at the end of their season. To be honest, I’m not sure how to take this report. Anytime I see “Gillispie’s job to be evaluated at the end of the year, I’d assume that’s not a good thing. But, the the Herald-Leader’s report makes it sound as if Todd is trying to calm down the firestorm around the coach.
You read the story and decide for yourself, but there is no denying the frustration expressed by Todd in this quote:
“I think every Kentucky fan is concerned, including the coach, including the athletic director. We didn’t do nearly as well in the last half of the season as we did in the first half. That’s pretty obvious.”
Either way, the fact that the question had to be asked is probably not a good sign of the times right now.
So……how about that Ole Miss game Thursday? See you at the pep rally, maybe? They’re looking pretty beat up and I think we’ve got a good shot….
