Is Cal recruiting Drake to Kentucky?
We already know Cal is a master recruiter, but this morning, he took it to another level when he tweeted about his visit Friday night with rapper Drake, who recently got his high school diploma:
For those asking what I gave @drake at his graduation, I gave him a game jersey with his name on it and a copy of our recruiting video.

For those that don’t know, Drake dropped out of high school at age fifteen to join the cast of “Degrassi: The Next Generation” in order to help his family pay the bills. At the UK Alumni Game back in September, Drake told the crowd and reporters that his relationship with Cal and UK inspired him to finish his high school education, which he did a few weeks ago. Drake said it was one of the best feelings in the world and he wants to follow it up by going to college as well. Cal being Cal, he wanted to make sure Drake had all the information about UK to make an informed decision.
If Drake takes Cal up on his offer, the eRupption Zone just got a lot more street cred.

It absolutely would never happen because of Drakes career as a musician but could you imagine If Cal got him to be a walk on on the basketball team? Any of you young guys wanna play on the team with Drake? I thought so. Now that would be a kick In the butt to Billy D.

How do you feel about Cal always having Drake involved with the things going on with the program? Drake constantly raps about smoking weed, having sex with multiple women and cusses every other breath in his raps. Do you think he should be the “celebrity face” of the program?

personally i think the Turtleman would be a great ambassador and a great face to put forth with UK basketball, and all UK sports for that matter. he’s a huge UK fan and was at the UK/tenn football game last year. what kid doesn’t love the Turtleman? wouldn’t his rebel yell sound great in Rupp, along with cheerleader-led shouts of Live Action!!
Isn’t this Illegal I’m am a huge UK fan but Cal might want to be careful here giving someone like Drake a copy of our recruiting video could bring violations to UK because those types of media are property to the University by NCAA restrictions and only used for game preparation Just Saying guys

Drake busted Chris Brown In the face with a campaign bottle and split him open In a night club. Id say his street cred Is well intact. And Drake Is actually one of the cleaner rappers out there. A lot of his music In considered R&B….not gangster rap.
Screw the eruption zone. Get Drake a uniform as a walk on. Can you imagine the amount of excitement recruits would have knowing they could be on the same team as Drake.

Everyone knows the duty of a UK walk-on is to boost the team’s GPA.
Besides – why should Cal persuade Drake to go to college. According to Cal – the goal of young men from the inner city is to make millions – not necessarily to go to college – and Drake has made his millions.
It’s all about these kids getting theirs. Cal gets it.
