I would like to start out by thanking Matt for this opportunity to blog on KSR. I am greally excited about this task and I hope that I can provide great insight about about UK and other teams weekly. Next I would like to thank everyone for their support during this time period for me. I have read every message that I have received and I am in the process of replying to them all. It means a lot to me to see people care about me as a person and not just an athlete. Currently, I am training for the NFL Supplemental Draft which is slated for July 16th. I am scheduled to fly to Philadelphia midweek for a meeting and physical with the Eagles. I will be coming back to Lexington to train in front of scouts on July 9th. I have a great chance of continuing to play a sport that I love this fall.
I am eager to begin making posts as the new class of players begin to arrive in Lexington for summer conditioning. It is going to be interesting to see which young players will rise to the occasion like Randall Cobb. Randall Cobb is one of the best athletes I have ever been associated with. His hard work and determination is contagious. With Micah Johnson, Trevard Lindley, Corey Peters, John Connor, Mike Hartline, Alfonso Smith, Derrick Locke, and Randall Cobb leading by example, this season could indeed be very special. Over the course of the next 8 weeks, we will soon know which freshman will have a prime opportunity to make an impact on the 2009 University of Kentucky Football team. The offseason is when a team finds their identity. Prior to my departure the team morale was very upbeat and positive. Our team has approximately 8 weeks to get themselves ready mentally and physically for fall camp which is scheduled to begin in early August. The season is almost here. It’s ALMOST football time in the Bluegrass!!! I can not wait to start reporting on stories and keeping the Big Blue Nation informed on events surrounding the gridiron.
