Indiana holding UK’s spot in 2012 Class Rankings

Indiana is taking the anti-UK approach to the rebuilding of their program, and now Tom Crean may actually be tripping into a top class.  Whereas Calipari decided to bring in top talent immediately and get as many wins as possible right from the jump, Crean decided to bring in average players and take as many losses as possible in his first 3 seasons.  And amazingly, Indiana fans have accepted that strategy, refusing to put Crean on the hot seat, despite finishing last or near last every season in the Big 10.  And yet, if we have learned anything about college basketball recruiting, its that it isn’t always about wins and losses.  Hell, if it was about that, Cal would have never got the Class of 2009 that he did.

Well, Crean may be proving that for next season, currently holding the top class in 2012 at this point.  Of course, Kentucky has yet to take a commitment (if you don’t include Harrow), so I think we all know that IU is simply holding onto the top spot until Kentucky wants it.  In all honesty though, I would LOVE Indiana to become a serious competitor to Kentucky, because they frankly have barely been a rival to UK over the last 10-15 years, sans a couple wins here and there.  So hats off to Tom Crean and staff, but just remember that #1 spot in reserved for somebody else.

Unless the NCAA crushes it, and it looks a little suspicious if you ask me.

How is that guy not in prison for being a serial killer? I know that bastard has some female hoosier meat laying in that freezer all Dahmerfied up. My guess, his recruiting class floats away just like his alibi.

Damerfied is now in my vocabulary. I will try to pepper it in during conversations tonight. 🙂

Cats have some work to do, because that mock draft has at least 5 players leaving.
Coach O going to be busy.

3- I wouldn’t if I were you, definitely won’t get ya a piece of tail. BUT you could save the life of a young girl from Crean. which in the end could get you tail. play this cool, and I bet you’ll at least get something you won’t be embarrassed about next morning.

Who cares if Indiana has the number 1 class today. That is like saying Joe Blow is in the club house number 1 at the PGA Championship. There are three days to go and Joe Blow will blow the lead. Cal will get who he wants.

SG Shabazz Muhammad – Could come down to Duke, UK, UNC, Texas

PF Mitch McGary – Hot name this week here on KRS. Hard to imagine Wiltjer and McGary on the same front line but I’ll take it.

SF Devonta Pollard – Mississippi native has UK high on his list but the Cats haven’t had much success in that state. Nothing would be sweeter than beating Stansbury, AGAIN!

PG/SG Rodney Purvis – If he wants to play PG in the NBA this is a no-brainer. He has more size, talent and upside than Harrow.

SG Archie Goodwin – He is a must get for new Arkansas head man Mike Anderson but Goodwin like UK and is interested.

SG Ricardo Ledo – Decommitted from Providence and the first five words out of his mouth were; I want to visit Kentucky.

C Kaleb Tarczewski – 7 footer, UK is mentioned in his list. Will he get an offer? Only time will tell.

PF Brandon Ashley – California native from the same AAU squad that produced Kyle Wlitjer. Extremely high on the Cats.

PF Robert Carter – Georgia big man is coveted by most SEC schools namely FLA and UGA. UK is in the mix.

C DaJuan Coleman – Many believe UK is clear leader for Coleman but its to early to know for sure.

PF Perry Ellis – Beating down Kansas next season may help UK in its recruitment of Ellis, KU’s #1 target for 12′.

PF Anthony Bennett – So many Power Forwards/ Centers in the top 25 hard to imagine UK not 2 may 3. Bennett is from Nevada’s basketball factory Findley Prep.

SG Omar Calhoun – Likes UK, has no offer.

SF Winston Shepard – Athletic small forward mentions UK, hoping for an offer.

PF Elijah Macon – Lists UK

    Good Post #9.

I do slightly disagree with a few pieces. First, where is Drummond? Although UCONN is his leader, UK also is on the list. We’ll see if the drama surrounding UCONN changes his mind.

I’d argue Syracuse and Ohio State are higher on the list for Coleman than UK. At best i’d put us #2 behind the Cuse.

You have to include UNLV and UCLA as serious contenders for Muhammad.

I don’t see Ellis going anywhere but Kansas but hopefully i’m wrong.

I also hope Kyle Anderson is on our list but we’ll see how things play out with him.

2012 will be a very young team but at least Cal has the probably wildcard of open roster slots and immediate playing time to whoever he’s after. Cal is the best in the business so i’m sure things will work out.

Once again, SnNHs shows just how classless a “human being” (and when referring to him, I use that term very lightly) can be; way to go IDIOT, once more you show your true colors.

I dont fear Crean or Self or coach K or Roy Boy…The thing that sets Cal apart at UK is winning. Crean can have the best class in 12′ but will they win? If he is such a good coach whats taking so long? Even with talent his (Crean) best team was a team lead by Dwayne Wade and we all see how he turned out. That team that defeated UK to make it to the final 4 lost by like 50 in the final 4 to Kansas the very next game. Only Cal at UK gets the best players, pushes them to reach their potential EARLY, wins games, preaches team and sends them to the lottery all while allowing them to play their game and at the same time winning on the highest level. IU is hiring HS coaches / AAU coaches that to me spells desperation and investigation!

18 – That seal must have sprung a few leaks (Dawson – Mich State, Davis – Xavier, Teague – Kentucky, etc etc) Don’t worry about us. We have players from all over the country wanting to play at UK. Looks like IU has to import them from Africa, although that might be coming to an end soon thanks to ESPN’s articles.

Let’s see. If Crean and IU go down, it will be the second time since the crappy General was fired.

It seems to me that somebody(s) forgot to be careful what they wished for.. 🙂

The best coach in Indiana is the fellow at Butler, and he does not need to cheat, he knows how to coach. Maybe if Crean gets fired over this, Stevens can go there and finally make IU competitive again. They have almost descended to the cup-cake stage of life. You certainly can not say that they contribute to making our pre-season the toughest in the nation this coming year.

However, it is the second most fun listening to them whine. First most fun whiners of course, are the little-brother fans between Lexington and Bloomington. But hey, maybe they are both setting a new trend: high school coaches on a college basketball teams’ bench….Not!

IU’s class will probably finish top 5 (actually, it certainly will), because of the fact that it has a top 100 recruit in the right pieces.
