As you probably know by now Shareef O’Neal, Shaq’s son, has de-committed from the University of Arizona following the allegations made against Sean Miller and his recruitment of Deandre Ayton.

On Friday, ESPN reported head coach Sean Miller paid $100,000 to lock up the commitment of No. 1 prospect DeAndre Ayton. Later that night, Yahoo! Sports linked the school to three other shady recruitments including Brian Bowen, Rawle Alkins, and Lauri Markkanen.

Shareef has long been linked to Kentucky due to his father’s respect for the program and Coach Calipari, but is that enough for Shareef to move across the country?

Future Cats Tyler Herro and Immanuel Quickley are using Twitter and the BBN to convince the younger O’Neal to bring his talents to Lexington.

On the court O’Neal would be a huge addition to the 2018 class as the forward spot that O’Neal plays is a big area of need. Off the court, it would be pretty cool to have Shaq on the sidelines for some games next year.

BBN, show Shareef some love.

To be fair, Eli, I don’t believe it was reported anywhere that Miller “paid $100k to lock up the recruitment…” It was reported he was on FBI wiretaps discussing a $100k payment for Ayton. Not being overly critical, but it’s important to get those details correct.

They are factually as accurate as the rest of the media,so cut them some slack. We live in a post-journalism age, remember.

I want him if his stock is seriously rising. I guess I’m getting spoiled by these Top 20 recruits.

After seeing him play twice, I’d say he’s about 1/4th as good as his Dad. Though talented, he just doesn’t have the same great desire that Shaq had…

Get the feeling this kid wants to be here, and all the other 18’ guys want him too! If I were Cal I would lock him up now and forget EJ Montgomery. He’s gonna play us right up until signing day and then go to Duke. We need to get guys who we don’t have to beg to come.
Now, go ahead and give me some smart ass comment about how I need to leave the coaching and recruiting to Cal……….
