Identifying and Addressing Duke’s Stages of Grief

Warning: Video contains NSFW language.

The above video is of the Sharks fan crying. According to the Kübler-Ross model, the young fan above is in stage two of dealing with his tragedy: Anger.

For comparison, this Bleacher Report post about why Duke fans should be happy that John Wall chose UK shows a Duke fan in stage three: Bargaining. His subtitled positive results from Wall’s decision include “Current Players Can Focus on Learning Their Roles” and “Wall Didn’t End Up Somewhere Else In the ACC”.

I highly recommend everybody study the Kübler-Ross model in the next few minutes. That way, you can accurately identify the stage of grief currently experienced by the Duke fan you encounter. With time and support from us Big Blue Brethren, Duke fans will finally arrive at the final stage: Acceptance that UK has eclipsed Duke in the college basketball world.
