With the official start of basketball season last Friday, KSR College writers have been in full swing preparing for the upcoming season. Here’s a few posts to get you up to speed on college basketball for Kentucky and the rest of the nation in 2012-2013:
-You’ve seen them dance but how much do you REALLY know about the men’s basketball team? JC Ausmus plays the “Getting to Know You” game in her weekly fun facts post.
-After a fruitful BBM that produced some big name commitments, you have to wonder how much the fans can influence a recruit’s decision. Tara Bilby explores that question in “How Important Are Fans to Recruiting?”
-Calipari’s public relations hand is still strong, as evident by tonight’s All-Access special on ESPN. Jack Heyburn provides us with the link for the official preview, as well as his thoughts on Calipari and the bacon shortage.
-We’ve been asking this question practically since the final buzzer of the title game this past April: can Kentucky repeat as national champions? One of the main factors that causes some people to doubt this as a possibility is the fact that we lost five underclassmen to the NBA draft. With College Hoopedia’s help, I examined past national champions that lost multiple underclassmen and how they fared in the tournament the next year. The answers may surprise you.
-And finally, as we tend to do at KSRCollege, we’ve decided to preview each college basketball conference. Interns- doing the work so you don’t have to. Click for each conference’s preview: America East, Big 10, Big South, MAC, Missouri Valley Conference, and Mountain West. More will be coming over the next week, so keep checking back!
